Yup, my mum has lived on one for over 20 years. It's not your stereotypical council estate though as it's in a nice small town in the countryside.

Yup, spent 17 years on an estate. Was a lovely place. Back when i lived there anyway, my dad has had to put up gates to keep the scum from fiddling with his motor home now though.

Lived here for 3 years. We own the property, and most of the other places around it are owned or occupied by quiet old people.
Why?

I wouldn't recommend this area to anyone, it's full of chavs and we get motrobikes/quad bikes/stupidly loud scooters going up and down the street every day. There's always people shouting, swearing and screaming their heads off as well.

Personally I've never had any hassle from anyone round here, there's much worse places down the road.

Nope, but there are a lot round here and some area total scum bag areas and some are really nice.

It's weird, on this estate I never get any trouble, but I've been smacked in the face by someone for no reason on another estate about 1/2 a mile away. Ironically, I feel safest on this estate I live on than most other parts of Rochdale.

You said there are rough places down the road, and I said it is because you live in Rochdale were vast parts of it are rough and not very nice.

A lady at work lives on an estate and the other day 12 cars including hers, got keyed. \o/

We're moving house soon and looked at one on an ex-council estate and it was just horrible. The house was fine but there were kids hanging around outside, someone revving a Nova round the back of our house and was just pretty yuck. Not to generalise of course
