I lived on one for about a year and a half. Bought a house on there as you got better value for your money in terms of size and land.
It was a nightmare. About 4 weeks after we moved in we got broken into, the local kids in the area told us it was our neighbour, but when we told the police they said they knew but were too scared to do anything about it. Things were quiet for a fre months when he went to prison but all hell broke loose when he got out. He waited for me to come home one night and then tried to get into the house. Fortunately I had locked the door behind me but that didn't stop him trying to kick it in.
We decided to move after he torched our car while it was parked on the front drive, about 3 ft from the house and in the middle of 2 of our other cars.
If it wasn't for him though, we might not have had such a bad time, and council built houses are very solid and spacious. The estate where we lived was the same estate that my dad had grown up on and there were no problems back in 'those days'!!
edit - this was in West Yorkshire btw.
