Have you run Winrar Cpu Bench Mark?

465 kb/s :(

Core 2 e6400 @ 2.8ghz

Flibby, have you got any other programs/processes running in the background?
mIRC
Everest

I even closed this Internet Explorer to do the bench. I'll try again with those two closed.

Just ran mine again with just Firefox and TAT open and got 1228 (slightly lower than my tabled score as running slightly slower oc).

Okay, ran it again with these programs all exited:

Logitech Profiler
Windows Sidebar
mIRC
Everest

So basically had nothing open, and got:

Still seems terribly low :(

Tried the 2.70 version of Winrar with the multithread tickbox, and I get 695 with everything including everest/windows sidebar closed.

2x1GB DDR2 5400 (667 Mhz) @ 700 Mhz 4.4.4.12

What RAM is that, is it dual channel and can you improve either the timings or freq? The winrar benchmark seems to love memory bandwidth.

Indeed it is.

Ive just gone from 472 to 730 by putting memory to 1T and adding at least 20mhz to my ddr ram freq.

I guess if i had ddr2 ram like the others, i would get 1k +

Memory is made by PQI, and yeah it's in dual channel mode (2x1gb). I could improve the timings and frequency I guess, will be putting my 3.2 ghz clock back on at a later point so the ram freq. will raise to 800 mhz so that'll probably help it a lot :)

Just suprised to see my score being so low, wonder if this RAM just isn't that good overall.

I think it will, look at my other post , i added a few mhz to my ram freq and clock speed and got a gain of 200 ish :) Only little jumps. Its really memory bandwidth hungry from what i can tell.

Can get 4Ghz but the damn RAM is holding me back :(
