Have you swapped your MSI 7950?

I have a TF3 which I purchased a week ago and I believe is one of the new batch, but with an idle temp of 54'C and what I think is excessive noise under load I am sending it back (it is hotter and louder than the previous reference card it replaced). Problem is its the only 7950 I have found which will fit in my case so HIS and Windforce are not optiond. I'll see if/what MSI come back with as I would really like to use the card.

And am getting the usual high standard of service from OCUK, thanks to 5UB.

What abouth 660ti than?

It would be nice to know if it was only a portion of the batch that is faulty, and if the others that seem ok at the moment(mine for example) will develop this problem.

Don't think it will develop it at a later date - the ones that are faulty are so out of the box and related to a combination of poorly applied TIM/faulty cooler by the looks of it.

I play games over 3 screens and all the reviews on the titles I mainly use show the 7950 with slightly better performance than the 660Ti (a wider data bus helps, and I get the impression the larger memory assists caching with some titles). The Gigabyte is a few cm longer and so unlikely to fit my case.

I am also not experienced with the Nvidia Surround offering, and have a Xfire ready motherboard.

Over 3 screens I doubt 660Ti could handle anything.

The 7950 is way faster than a 680 over 3 screens :).

I must have gotten very lucky, ordered back in August and with 55% fan speed, core oc'd to 1000mhz, the temps never go above 62c, idles at about 27-29c.

It's a great card if you got a non faulty one.

I don`t know if i should give MSI another chance now.
Since so many people say that bought this old/new batch has lots o failures.
I think I will just go for gigabyte 7950...

I've had my Card RMA'd but because the fans run up to 100% and there is no POST when I boot. Tested in multiple computers, it's bricked. Mildly ironic that with all the dodgy cards floating around, I get one that is actually DOA :/
I also got done byt he post office. £13.80 to send via ParcelForce =/
