Have you swapped your MSI 7950?

I hope they will take it back.
Even my friends I play borderlands 2 or bf3 say that this is not normal...I run the card at stock as well and high temps...

Costs around £9.60 to send a card back with insurance first class.

Post office ;)

First class insurance only covers up to £46. It's best to use a courier.

I've had my Card RMA'd but because the fans run up to 100% and there is no POST when I boot. Tested in multiple computers, it's bricked. Mildly ironic that with all the dodgy cards floating around, I get one that is actually DOA :/
It's not even remotely ironic. :p

I also got done byt he post office. £13.80 to send via ParcelForce =/
Don't worry about it, you are entitled to claim that back from the seller as it's a faulty item.

Yep! They also wipe your bum and tuck you in at night too! :p

Generally, just wrap the box in a bin bag and parcel tape, print the label out and stick it to the box.

Jesus Christ if I see any more posts about your temps IC3 I think I'll go insane :D.

Send it back tomorrow as you're obviously not happy with it even though it's "OK". If it's an RMA and they actually test it as opposed to "oh it's another MSI return" then be prepared for them to reject the RMA.

Did you have a look at the temps?
I think they should accept the card as faulty.

Rusty admit it you just love me posting my temps :p

Those temps aren't even that bad.

They're not great for a 7950 at stock, I saw 78 max while playing through Crysis 2 but that was overclocked to 1200 with a 1.25v core voltage and fans quite low, which all in all I'm very happy with.

So there is something wrong.
My airflow isnt bad since the last gpu got max of 59-60c oced! it was gts 250 1gb pushed to its limit.
My cpu gets max of 51c oced as well...
Theres something wrong with this card...
For the tests i actually lower the room temp and I had to sit in a jumper!...
the refrence cooling would be better than this.

The problem is the card is not running hot by definition. Just compared to what it should be running.

If they wanted to get funny about it they could reject an RMA for it although I feel that's unlikely given the coverage this faulty version of card is getting.

This is why you should thoroughly test and research in the 14 day period because then you get a no hassle return.

For the millionth time yes there is something wrong ! Not horrible temps but still a bit too high. I gave you an excellent example on page 3 with my temps not exceeding 64c with a huge oc and a low fan speed. While you had a very very little oc and a high fan speed your temps were way to high compared to mine. But once again your temps are not horrible, just comparing it to mine which is a full working 7950 tf3 yours is slight out of proportion .

It was 13 working days when I contacted to get my Money back. They emailed me back with the RMA number and all the spiel about them testing the card and if its not faulty they will send it back to me at my cost. I mentioned that I wanted my money back as part of the 14 day money back gurantee. See what happens

That's just their standard returns mail. I got the same after 4 working days :D.

Make sure you claim your postage costs back as well. I have sympathy with OcUK it's not their fault but you shouldn't have to eat the cost to return faulty items under the DSR/extended DSR

Mine was a tenner and I'm not exactly going to go hungry without that £10 but it's more a matter of principle for me. :)

I know what you mean by this, since its not our or OC fault that the item is damaged. But MSI`s I know its a quality manufacture but every manufacture once in the career will have a bad batch of their products.
Iv asked in my customer service thread if, I can send the card under the 14 day satisfaction guarrante.
