Having trouble installing my sub!

Be warned tho the electric aerial lead sometimes only comes on when when listening to the radio. My Alpine is on all the time but my old Sony unit was only on when when listening to the radio -- selecting aux in etc turned it off. You could just splice into the switched +12v which goes on and off with the ignition. Then your amp would be running all the time the car is running and go off when you take out the key.

The problem with car audio is the people who whack a massive subwoofer or 6x9s in the boot and don't put any deadening in :(. I've got a set of JL C5-650s up front and a 10w3 in the boot powered by an Audison SRx3. Sounds lovely, and it's all deadened by Dynamat to make sure it's only ME enjoying it ;)

LOL i made this mistake once lots of rattles and body panels looking like they were about to explode. Also once i was driving down a dual carriage way and my rear cluster fell off as the bass was gradually loosening the screws holding it in place.

biggest pet peev is people who put 6x9's in a parcel shelf directly above 3x 12 inch subs and they seem to think all that air pressure will not throw the 6x9's out of sync.

How did you find this affected the sound in your cabin?

Ive fitted deading in my boot pan and door panels and the difference certainly wasnt night and day.

Ant
The panels in the 200 are made from tin foil, the flex was unbelievable.. Fitted the speakers at the same time as the deadening so can't say for sure but it certainly sounds very punchy with it fitted. Plus it keeps more sound inside the cabin rather than wasting energy ****ing people off in the houses around you, which can only be a good thing.

I have found a blue wire labeled

P.CONT
and
ANT.CONT

Is this it?

P-CONT is the one you want mate, will turn the amps on when the ignition is switched on .

Ant Cont is a wire for remote extendable aerials and only usually works when you turn the radio on.

Deffo be P-CONT mate , just strip both ends and twist them together first if you want to check then solder it after or fit a terminal block.
