Hayfever - Thread

I have to say, after one week on fexofenadine I'm totally sold. This stuff is the dog's testicles. The doc gave me two months supply, too :D

I can wear my contacts again, and have my windows open at home without turning into a spluttering snotty mess. Still taking cetrizine and loratadine, just in case, but I'm feeling MILES better now. Good times.

I think I'm beginning to control my hayfever now. I'd say I was a 9/10 in terms of the effects I feel from it.

Has anyone ever tried the Qu-Chi Acupressure band? I'm interested in it but most of the reviews seem fabricated and dodgy.

This year has definitely been bad for me. I'm allergic to tree and grass pollen so I start early and end late.

Been taking 3 One-a-day tablets daily to make a slight difference combined with a hayfever nasal spray and a decongestant spray at night - Even then it's only just bearable. Going to ask the doctor when I visit if there's a chance of obtaining a different set of tablets rather than over the counter stuff.

Im on Fexofenadine Hydrochloride too..120mg although some days this isnt strong enough for me..i end up having to take two.
I think they do a 180mg pres too.

Roll on Winter time. :p

This Pirinase is so awesome. Literally have not had any symptoms since taking it, and before I could barely go outside without sneezing every 2 seconds and having a streaming nose

Wow today's hayfever is epic. Everything that came before in this season was pathetic compared to what I am suffering now.

Constant sneezing, blocked sinuses, sniffles, itching nose !!

I so need to get to the Doctors but it took 2 weeks to see him last time so no chances of getting an appointment until it's over probably.

Mine seems to have dropped massively over the past 2 days. It s nearing the end of grass pollen season though.

Plus my daily 4 cetirizine tablets probably help. :D

I wanted to try fexofenadine for my hayfever and mainly my urticaria, however it would mess with my trial chemo meds. :(

I use mometasone furoate (brand name nasonex) which is a nasal spray that has been prescribed by my GP. Apart from the occasional itchy eye it completely destroys hay fever for me. Have had no symptoms whatsoever for about a week now (inb4 speak too soon lol)

Highly recommend it.

This year has been quit odd for me - for the last 20 years I've used cetirizine, which worked mostly OK. This year it just makes me drowsy! Switched over to loratadine though and it seems to help just as much, with no drowsiness.

Not heard of this fexofenadine.. I may have to look into this :)

Can I ask how many days supply you get of dexofenadine on prescription? acrivastine really works quite well for me but taking 3 a day is starting to get expensive.

Of course,I get 30 days supply..and my prescription is for a year,It was 6 months but when i went to the docs a few weeks back he just said il renew it for a year.

I wish they could give me more to save me going up every 30 days, soon comes around.

Fexofenadine is the only drug i've found effective against my hayfever (I've tried a lot of different drugs) but it doesn't work 100% for me, think I'm becoming immune to it now which sucks.

Might ask for the injection next year but it's always been refused!

wtf is up with hayfever pills, every damn time I take one i'm all agitated and hyper! Hate it, I thought they are supposed to make you feel drousy but i'm the opposite!

And here we go again.....

Mines has been on the go for 2 weeks already, was particularly bad tail end of last week and Monday, Tuesday this week. Much better today as it is pouring a rain and freezing outside (Inverness).

I seem to suffer from April right through until pretty much August/September. Is that because my stupid body is allergic to everything, tree, grass, plants & flowers? What type of pollen is smashing my face in currently as early as April of the year?
