Hayfever - Thread

Fexofenadine is the only drug i've found effective against my hayfever (I've tried a lot of different drugs) but it doesn't work 100% for me, think I'm becoming immune to it now which sucks.

Might ask for the injection next year but it's always been refused!

Same here,Im on the 120Mg and while it does a MUCH better job that any other alternatives ive tried..ive noticed the same..maybe my body has got so used to them they no longer work as good as half way through the day my hayfeaver starts playing up again.

Done my repeat prescription online today,Ive requested the 180Mg to see if that will get me fully through the day,Not sure if they will let me have the 180mg ones though unless i see the doc first?...Or do Docs see repeat pres forms before they go through anyway?

Luckily Zirtek syrup works wonders for me and my family, on the downside is it costs so bloody much and doesn't last long.

Unlucky for me though I have a killer cold at the moment and everything things it's hayfever, so I get "You should try......" all the time.

Another year has come round quick.

I'm on 180mg fexofenadine tablets again this year and I've been taking two a day and its not even touching it this time round.

Definitely think I'm getting more and more immune to them.

I even took a cetirizine hydrochloride and a Loratadine on top one day as I was getting so stressed, made me feel like a zombie for a few hours but I was soon back to suffering.

Going back to the doctors about the injection again...

i have cetirizine in the morning and a piriton at night before bed as the doctor told me to and said if it doesn't help the hayfever at least it will make me sleep lol :D (and it does lol) but if i get a runny nose i will have it all day no matter what i take, i tried everything now apart from injection and he's really trying to avoid letting me have it, i must have cycled through all the tablets and stuff at least 3 times now over the years.

this week i've been waking up wheezing and with the dryest mouth ever, it's horrible :(

the worst thing about this weather is people starting bonfires..

it always leads to an eye infection for me, as I have right now. the tablets don't work a lot of the time, I should stick with a brand that does! I have to take 2/3 tablets rather than the 1 along with eye drops , even then my eyes are still messed up.

as said above, people who don't have this problem don't understand how annoying it is.

Don't laugh: eating does temporarily cure hayfever symptoms, as does drinking and sex. Not sure how to get any of them prescribed though.

I was converted to Beconase a few years ago, and it's still the best treatment I know. For me at least. I very occasionally have to back it up with cetirazine if symptoms are really bad, but that's maybe twice a year. And now I live near Manchester it's too wet for pollen anyway...
