Hayfever - Thread

For some reason I find taking my loratadine at night works much better than in the morning. Also has the advantage of knocking me right out. I get my best night sleep ever on this tablet and some very vivid dreams!

just had a sneezing fit of ten sneezes, then thought of this thread. today is the first day my hayfever is feeling really bad. i was fine up until now :( i just cant stop sneezing. whats the best stuff on the market at the moment?

Had it for 6 weeks now and this week since Tuesday it has been getting increasingly worse. I don't even think the grass pollen has started to effect me yet either, so yeah, I look forward to that **** kicking off.

Struggled in April and may was ok but this last week has been killer.

Its either sleep with the window open and fan on and actually sleep but wake up with eyes like I had been in a boxing match

or try to sleep with the window closed and not sleep at all.

I have found a good beconase nose spray and eye drops sort out most of the symptom's.

Been using the various Hayfever relief tables from Sainsburys/Tesco but I think they give more of a placebo than anything (as I still get it bad sometimes while taking them).

after reading some of the replies. i might go and inquire about fexofenadine..

but i do agree. a lot of the one a day hayfever pills and remedies are in my opinion a placebo, as they never work for me :/

I remember my first sneezing fit well. I was 9 or 10, it was as if my body was making up for not being allergic for 9 years. All of a sudden I sneezed constantly for about a minute, almost suffocated as it was constant no breaks just, achoochoochoochoochoochoo.

glad its calmed down a bit for me tbh, I wouldn't mind this so called "cure" they said they were working on a year or 2 ago.

Mine seems to have dropped massively over the past 2 days. It s nearing the end of grass pollen season though.

Plus my daily 4 cetirizine tablets probably help. :D

I wanted to try fexofenadine for my hayfever and mainly my urticaria, however it would mess with my trial chemo meds. :(

why are you taking 4? arent you overdoing it?

Using hayfever/allergy tablets once a day, along with nasal spray (two sprays up each nostril daily) and then I also use this once a day.

I normally suffer quite badly with sneezing attacks, stinging eyes and a streaming nose, but this year the symptoms are about 20% of what they were last year which I think is thanks to my "3 way attack" combo above. Considering my air con in my car is broken and I've had to have the windows constantly open, it's not too bad.

And if it is a placebo then the brain has some strong power of the allergy reactions!

I usually suffer from hayfever quite badly, but this year doesn't seem too bad, even with the very high pollen count recently. Admittedly I'm most affected by grass pollen, but I've been around plenty of lawns being cut and the most I've had is a few sneezes!

Well mine started last night, thought I was going to have another summer free of symptoms.

Taken a tablet this morning, which has stopped the sniffling, but eyes are slightly itchy, and it's caused a headache!

God dam you pollen
