Hazro series - HZ30Wi, HZ30WiQ, HZ27WA, HZ27WB & HZ27WC

again refer to that review as it talks about the out of the box factory calibration (which was active for the HZ27WC sample) and shows you how it performs against that. there's also a Dell U2711 which tests all the setup in the different presets as well for comparison. remember the Dell is a wide gamut screen and the HZ27WA/C are standard gamut models.

The HZ27WA has an OSD for hardware level changes of RGB etc, whereas the HZ27WC doesn't and only offers a control over the backlight intensity

Ah yes it makes sense now with scaling to 10bit thats really nice and im lovig the glossy screen im just really tossing it up against the u2711 i WAS saving for and wondering which to go for.Im willing to pay for proper pre calibrated screens like the dell high ends have and i found that very appealing and the fact u can alter colour via the osd so if a game looks too vibrant or washed out i can adjust it via the monitor OSD and leave windows alone.

Can the hazro do that ! Im going to trawl the thread later if i get some free time, ive never heard of hazro before so i hope they are going to give proper 6500k gamma 2.2 versions out of the box.I would love it to trounce the dell at that price.

in the tftcentral review mentioned above:

"Hazro have informed us that the screens will actually be factory calibrated before they are shipped out with targets set to 2.2 gamma, 6500k white point and 120 cd/m2 brightness."

yep indeed, and then the HZ27WC sample reviewed had this factory calibration so you can see the success of this in the out-of-the-box tests of that particular model

they are certainly supposed to be and the HZ27WC i tested, which came from stock, was :)

I hope so because if the HZ27WC version isn't, I might be wrong but I reckon it's gonna be very hard to properly calibrate the screen with decent results
even with a hardware calibration device because of it not having any brightness, contrast, color etc OSD controls

I wonder why they didn't at least keep the OSD controls in the HZ27WC version for the brightness, contrast, color and RGB.

They removed the scalar and inputs from this version which is no big problem if your only gonna be using it on your PC but it would have been nice having the OSD controls as it would give you a lot more control.

It would vary. there IS a brightness (backlight intensity) control even on the HZ27WC so the luminance can be well controlled. in fact this control is better and with more steps than on the HZ27WA.

The max contrast ratio would be pretty much fixed by the balance of digital white and digital black levels. if you look at the HZ27WA review you will see the uncalibrated model (sent out before they did factory calibration) had a weird balance out of the box and so had to be corrected. you could control both levels through the OSD on that model. on the HZ27WC this was optimised at factory anyway, so as long as thats in place (and i'd be amazed if it wasnt) then it should be fine for contrast ratio.

colour balance, gamma, white point could all be corrected reasonably enough through a colorimeter / calibration device even without OSD changes to the RGB channels. the HZ27WC doesnt have any of these settings at a hardware level so in applications (eg games) when ICC profiles and software calibrations are not active, the corrections would not be used. for other applicaitons, a colorimeter would be fine for adjusting these. the HZ27WC tests suggest default settings were very good anyway

purely for cost, as with the 30" models. they did keep backlight control though (ie brightness setting)

Yes.

Stock has arrived today, all backorders are now shipping.

As a lot of you seem to have not ordered yet, I've moved the price up by *ONLY* £12 out if fairness to those who did pre-order early. At the end of the week the price will increase more.

Oh and just to clarify they are absolutely gorgeous monitors with one of the sharpest image qualities I've seen. :)

Thanks so much Baddass for your input.;)

Yes all backorders shipping!

However the WC models are nearly sold out.

Thanks Gibbo.
But does it mean there are some backorders that won't get WC lcds this time?

Mine for example says Order Status: In our warehouse queue.
Does it mean it hasn't been sent cause C version is out of stock already?
