He Man remake is coming in july on netflix

Lot to go though here. Whats do you think the very obvious reason is? Because the actual reason why she didn't know, but her father, best friend, local clown and their pet did was because of who she really is. And they are keeping that from her still.

Prob the same reason every single alter ego hero keeps it from certain people.
Adam literally just sacrificed his life to save the ENTIRE universe and she throws a hissy fit and quits magic and her job because 3 people lied.

Adam was meant to be 15 years old. He looked the way he did in the original cartoon because it was cheaper that way. Im quite glad that netflix actually bothered to pay some animators this time round.
The animation in this wasnt good, it had good parts, but overall the animation was very cheap in this, size changing frame to frame was a big teller in this

She spent her whole life being actively prevented from knowing about the real magic of eternia. As I said before they actually wiped her memory the one time she did learn about it.
Everyone on the planet was aware how much they needed magic to even survive on a basic level.

I like how in the same arguement you say it was wrong of teela to yell at the king and Queen because they have just lost thier son, and then say that the king shouldn't have been so upset about it. Seems like those 2 cancel each other out somewhat
Thats not what I said, the King was a Ahole before he knew of his death.

Edit. Just quickly on her abandoning everything. Its not like the show presents that as the right thing to do. Its clearly bad, and she spends the rest of the show having to make up for it.

Thats kind of what the whole show is. Her making up for the fact that she got angry and lost it.

Also just to say again, none of this was marketed about it being about her, the fact they actually killed Heman off twice within a few episodes is truly astounding in terms of writing. Smith himself said it was a direct carry on from the previous Cartoons. He even went to proclaim them this after the leaks turned up.

THe brand is not and have never been " Masters of the Universe"..it has always been HeMan and Skelator. No one that grew up in the 80s was watching this for her story, no one cared about that at all. What happened here is they baited and turned the story away from that, its funny how the never marketed her once in a hero pose for this. What was expected was a show for those kids who are now adults wanting to see the cartoon mature with it. Its jsut means I wont watch anymore as theirs no point and have no interest, its the sheer out and out lying about it.

The toys and comics from 81 were branded masters of the universe, the cartoon added the "he-man and the" part, then as early as the 87 movie it was back to just plain masters of the universe. So thats just incorrect.

And you think the reason that teela, the captain of the guard, Prince Adams personal body guard, conceived of magic, and destined to be the near all powerful keeper of the secrets of Castle grayskull, who would regularly fight along side he-man, and who was captured by skeletor several times, wasn't told Adam was he-man because they wanted to stop her from being a target. But its fine for the court jester and their cowardly talking cat to know.

Skeletor has no reason to think she wouldn't know. And he definitely did know that she was one of he-mans closed allies.

And the show isn't about her, it just uses her as the point of view.
Episode one is just like the old episodes, load of he man and Adam. Episode 2 is "the adventures teela and friend". Episode three is "look how bad ass man at arms is" episode 4 is "orko and evil Lynn have a moment" and episode 5 is "here's a whole world full of he mans"

Really? Where? As the first toy was called He Man, then the series was titled He Man. Kind of mute as I doubt many if any are basing their memory on the first action figure or comic.
Also originally Heman only had one half of the sword, skelator the other half. Not sure how it's the one and same now unless I missed that retcon as well.

The film is know for being called that as it was to shift merc, yet even with that title guess what, it featured the character everyone wanted to see lol.
Just think of the idea of a Shera remake and her head is chopped off in the first spisode then we have to watch a moaning man for 4 episodes.

Thinking of it, none of it matters. The story etc was awful and filled with lots and plot holes, so even as a stand alone it was bad. Ole skelator just stayed in Lynn's Orb the whole time.. Lmao. Guess it's silly to maybe flesh out her reasons for doing what she does other then just shrugging her shoulders.

Not watched it but i find it amusing the people of eternia are suffering from Metropolis syndrome, it's blindingly obvious who He-Man is but no one can see it. He doesn't even need glasses to remain incognito.

I watched it and enjoyed it, even if Teela isn't a nice character. The highlight of the season was Merman and definitely looking forward to season 2

Worth watching?

For the record I loved the new she-ra.

I'm not really too bothered about the woke stuff. I'm not offended by stuff like demaning stuff. If it's flashy, 80s, and not too broken ill probably like it?

The trailer is amazing

Watch it, I enjoyed it. Unless I'm totally mistaken it's probably going to be more adult oriented than the she ra remake, although I've not watched it.

It's like a direct continuation with some non deal breaker PC changes, but makes up for it by exploring more characters and also being episodic. The 80s cartoon doesn't stand up well specifically because the short episodes were mostly self contained. I'm waiting for the news of the release date of the next batch of, presumably, 5 episodes.

OK. I watched the first episode. Now I get why there is all the hate.
I don't mind too much but I would agree it has been missold.

I've only read about the controversy. But I asked my wife what she would expect to see from a "Masters of the Universe" show. First words He-Man. I asked her if she wanted to watch it, flat no.

Having conducted extensive market research, I'm fairly sure the target demographic should be 40 something blokes who watched the original as kids or kids. The trailer which I have seen suggests it's a He-Man show. Cool. All the reviews suggest it's about some horrid entitled cow who claims to be Teela and He-Man carks it in the first episode.

Who did they think they were making this for again? I never understand why producers make reboot shows that aren't; first off good and second targeted in a way that the obvious demographic would enjoy it. Seems like to ruining your own product.

It's not even got He-Man in the title though.

Also we only have half the show so far. We don't know what will happen in the other 5. People are just getting worked up over a little aspect of the story.

If memory serves in the original Japanese cartoon the bad guy changes between sexes. When it was recut and scenes added for the US market that was understandibly rejigged so the bad guy had a sister. They beat the current mania by 30+ years :-)

Well that trailer certainly looks like it might satisfy the whingers. Seems like it's all about Adam regaining the power. Then everyone fighting together to beat the bad guys. If only all those haters had waited to see the full show before complaining it was all about Teela.
