£100 GBP, ($165).

Use- Everything, I would love the headphones to have a lot of BASS!
I was looking at the HD 555's.... are there better ones that are in my budget? o.O

Dude if your a 'bass head' then I'd probably stay away from reference headphones and save your cash and get something like the Koss Porta pro's, the bass on those will shake your face off, or the PX100's, slightly less bassy but better mid range range, tbh I haven't heard a pair of reference can's to date that has a comfortable amount of bass for me yet.

You expect me to save more for headphones?, the max is £100 wether i save or not..

He didn't mean save more money, he meant save money on getting some Koss Portapro's as they are cheap. Contrary to popular belief among some people, cheap headphones can be great, the Portapro's prove this.

If you don't like the look of them fair enough, but they have no shortage of bass people have said.

Thanks for explaining.

Normally I recommend the Koss Porta Pro's for bass heads but I know the styling of them isn't to everybody's taste so if that's the case take a look at the PX100's as they are quite similar.

I want the headphones to cover my ears fully, there for home use >.>

Ok np, then just disregard the post, was just a friendly suggestion you don't have take the advice.

If your looking for full sizes headphones that have a lot of bass then have a look at the MDR-XB700's.

The HD 555's are very nice cans, great for mid range frequencies and tight bass but I certainly wouldn't recommend them for 'bass heads', what type of bass are you looking for ?, realistic tighter well timed bass or a more deeper prolonged head shaking bass ?, what type of music do you listen to ?

There not just nessecarly for bass, im saying i would like them to have some bass, i will watch movies, play games, listen to music (Rap, Bass music like Top Back T.I.)... etc...

You will have to search high and low. £90 was once a fantastic price not long back, Sennheiser seemed to have hiked the price to £110-£120.

There are a lot of good comments on Head-fi about the HD485, assuming you can't find some HD595 for less than 100 smackers. The HD555 seem more all round phones, whereas the HD485 seem more for people who prefer a good amount of bass.

Tbh, I doubt the difference in amount of bass between the two will be much if any. Some guy on Head-fi that has used both said the 595's had tighter bass, they also have a more refined sound. Depends on the individual it seems, some people preferred the 555's. Maybe they couldn't justify the extra £50.
