Heart attack, who to inform?

I think you could apply for a more relaxing truck job? Working for a small family business type thing.

That way you still get to drive one and you won't under too many constraints.

Whilst it's not a bad idea it depends on a company actually taking him on because of Insurance.

I'm sure Stobart aren't the type of people to get rid of a veteran trucker however I really do feel sorry for Scania, not being able to do what he loves.

Best of luck with your recovery.

Gutted for you, but at least as you say, you are still here to tell the tale!

Absolutely this.

My Dad died two years ago from a sudden, and totally unexpected heart attack. You are quite literally lucky to be alive, and amazing that you could even post on ocuk!

Take your time healing, and see this as the time to do everything the doctors suggest about lifestyle/diet/work:life balance, etc

Wish you all the best on your recovery

Wow! Thanks for the comments guys, I'm deeply touched.

Looks like I won't be driving anything for a while, it's quite a challenge picking up my iPhone to even post this!! :o

In the grand scheme of things, sod the driving, it can and will wait.

Whilst I'm still in a lot of pain and bed bound on oxygen, I guess the fact I'm still here is really starting to hit home and put things in perspective.

Stobart were very supportive to my wife, fair play to them, they just want me better, anything else can and will wait.

Again, thanks to all, what a community.

Good to hear you're still with us..;):D Scary things heart attacks, in some ways scarier for those watching than actually going through it. Take your time and get well; I suspect in a few months you'll look back and laugh at the things you once thought important.

Early days yet, but if they offer you an opportunity to take part in the cardiac rehabilitation scheme, take it. You'll learn loads; healthy eating, medication, understanding a heart attack and lots besides. Take the Mrs too.

Wishing you all the best, I know these things can be a real shock and something that can really shake a person (based on my dads own experience with heart problems). Heres to a good recovery, and hope that your employer looks after you.

My dad had a heart attack last year its not a nice experience and ever since I feel anxious about mine.

I hope and wish you a speedy recovery

Im mostly a lurker but ive read your posts for a couple of years and i was getting a bit worried that you hadnt posted much past your original in this thread

Just want to echo the "get well soon" sentiment and the most important thing is you are here to tell the tale.

I have no positive input to the practicalities of your scenario im afraid, I just hope you have a speedy recovery.
