Helicopter crashes into Glasgow pub

Guessing that if a plane suffers a serious malfunction in the air the pilot still has some options to at least avoid populated areas. A serious malfunction in an airborne helicopter and the pilot can't really do much :(

Same could be said for the interviewer, constantly asking questions when the fireman could be doing more important jobs.

His job is clearly media / PR, he was trying to play the situation down in a bid to get less media coverage and keep the heat off the police for crashing a helicopter in to a pub. The reporter was simply probing him because the responses were very defensive and unhelpful.

Tragic incident, thoughts to all those involved. I guess we need to be sort of thankful that there was no fire :(
I was working this flight about 5 or 10 minutes before this crash. Terrible news.
Terrible indeed. Do you work in ATC or for the Police?

The fireman in that BBC video is being so obstructive to the interviewer, most likely trying to play it down for the 'police'

Yes, because everything is a conspiracy these days, right? I doubt he was 'trying to play it down for the police' at all, there will be an official investigation anyway and since when did a fireman take orders from the police anyway? Besides, it wasn't being flown by a police officer.

I'm sure it used to fly over many thousands of offices every day. Why do people always try to link themselves to tragic events, I will never understand :(

My office is across the river from the heliport. I'm sorry this offends you.

Who mentioned a conspiracy no need to make a drama out of it. Professionals always cover each others back and the fireman is deliberately not giving numbers because they are headline material

Because people with feelings feel lucky to be alive now and again

Quite the assumption there chap, he lives next to it (and by his post sees it lift off I presume), wouldn't you have a strange feeling seeing the same chopper totalled inside a pub which is on national news?

Almost surreal atmosphere last night in my area. Usually lots of people around from about 11:30pm from the local bars but area was deserted, similar feeling to when we had the terrorist attack on the airport.

Thoughts and prayers to the families affected by the crash.

8 now confirmed dead, very sad day indeed and just before the holiday season. My thoughts are with all the families and friends involved.

4 people die per day on the roads in the UK. Where's the news reports on them? This is so over hyped by the media, once again.

It must be terrible news for the families but they're reporting that the whole of Scotland is in shock, and are finding it hard to believe!? What? Helicopter crashed, people died, report what happened, move on.

It must be very frustrating for the families who were involved who are no doubt being hassled by the media for an interview. But then people love being on TV don't they.

/rant.
