Map packs are also a problem as it splits the playerbase if they're fun and used. It's an interesting roadmap though.
Played a lot of this over the weekend. The problem of nobody wanting to squad lead at the start still irks me, especially as I feel I have more than done my fair share of it in the past. Its a very powerful role, but often see so many SLs simply not finding good positions and when they do they then get let down by the squad by not having a support backing up their every move with those vital supplies.
Was on the UKLL server last night, and whilst it was fun, my teams SLs were uselessly concentrating all their OPs right next to a garrison near cemetery on St Mere Eglise....like for the love of god just spread them out a bit but make sure you are within the 4 cap squares.
Failure to understand what the 4 cap squares are is another bug bear of mine, too many people holding useless positions....
Rant over, its a great game really!!
I never ever play recon, but gave it more of a go on the weekend, I went as spotter and had a co-sniper and it was just a brilliant experience. My partner was really helpful, had good comms and we terrorised the back lines all game. It was really rewarding, right up until 5 mins from the end when the server crashed.... didn't even get to thank my brilliant teammate!
I played the desert map and it was a total mess. Game is held together by duct tape.Any news on them fixing the awful LODS in this new patch?

They've made too much money to be still considered an indie studio, should have hired some competent engineers.

Not been a long-time HLL player, but convinced/coerced my group into all getting it a month or two ago and we've been thoroughly enjoying our time - we've all got countless hours in Squad, Arma, Post Scriptum etc so this had obvious appeal.
It is a through-and-through half hearted attempt of a game that has too many compromises and shortcuts. The British loadouts are subpar and clearly didn't go through any sort of play testing and it really shows. The choice of weapons is questionable and the lack of uniforms really is mind-boggling. The two new maps are... Interesting. Driel is just a meat-grinder for 10-20 minutes until someone manages to sneak/break through the bridge; and El Alamein is just pixel hunting from my experience so far. Doesn't love up to the hype and anticipation for the Brits to be honest.
Otherwise though, some parts of the game just don't make sense - poor map design quality passes for invisible walls and hedgerows stopping bullets where they shouldn't etc. The mini game that is tank gearing. The phasing through stone walls but getting stoppes by twigs etc. The new run speed is good, but definitely needs tweaking down a smidge...
Still enjoying my time with it though
