Hell Let Loose - Console Edition

Played this on series x for a few hours today. There is a frequent micro stutter which is slightly off putting. Other than that it runs flawless.

The game itself, wow. That's a tough one to get to grips with. I watched a few YouTube videos last night which helped explain how the gameplay works. The lack of in game tutorial makes it a proper plunge into the deepend.

Have really enjoyed it though. And 7 hours in I am getting to grips with it. I still can't see enemies for toffee though

I'm very interested in getting this after playing a fair bit on PC , would be good to start a group if enough were interested

I'll be on 8-10pm most week day evenings. But would be up for joining others as I doubt any of my current online friends will be interested in HLL.

I'm looking forward to this, but will be very rusty because the last online FPS shooter I put serious hours into was BF3!

If anyone is starting a group please post about it because I'd be interested.

The network errors when finding a game are a pain, but I just got one (that booted me out a match) when having a brilliant round! The squad leader was doing a great job, then disappeared... we had one point left to take, then BOOM I'm given an error; though oddly could still hear the chat.

Think it'll take a few months/patches for this game to settle down - but it's decent :) Feels less of a grind than Enlisted, and I don't have to spend months of playing to unlock decent weapons - hurrah!!

I also got some 'rubber banding'!!! Not had that since Battlefield 1942/Vietnam on an old NTL broadband line - frustrating, but it took me back lol

Up to rank 13 now, and slowly getting to grips with this - but the console players are commonly really hard to work with; no comms, and when playing as the SL they don't place spawn points - so it's often a solid ~10 minutes run to get into the action.

Looking forward to them patching the game to sort out the crashes, settings not saving, and XP not registering always.... also quite looking forward to Battlefield coming out, so most of the PS+ players **** off and play that :D

I've only been able to spawn at base and then have to do the 10 min run, very frustrating when a network error boots me out just as I get close to the action.

It could be worse, you could actually make it to the battle to instantly get taken out by an enemy you don't see like me.

Oh, I get that as well - but it usually because I've continued to run into the next point; when you should be looking to slow it all down about 100-150m away - gives you time to tune into things; let's you listen for gunshots and scan the common flanks.

Looking forward to ploughing more time into this - nearing my first unlock for the machine gunner - can't wait for MG42 goodness!

The T17 service error message and getting kicked out of the rounds, especially really good enjoyable rounds is starting to really #%$! Me off.

I think they're near to releasing a patch for that - going through a QA process according to Reddit...

I'm still struggling with controls a tad - I have switched to layout C, which gives me 'hold breath' on L3, but trying to aim at targets 100-200m away still feels more like luck than judgement, so hoping they introduce some more fine-tuning for controller play.

Other than that, I love the game - it's right up my alley, and when you get squad leaders and commanders on comms, it just gets better and better :)

I concur both on the difficulty aiming and the love of the game.

If any of you have a PC I'd highly recommend switching to it there. I'm over 500 hours in, in a very casual clan that provides regular competitive games, and it's one of the best games I've played in a long time - particularly as you can drop it and pick it back up without needing to constantly grind etc.

Just PS5 for me - don't think I could stomach paying the current hardware prices to build a gaming PC again - so I'll just have to put up with the hit and miss rounds on console; where matches are usually 60% no one talking, 30% SLs not having a clue about putting down spawns, and 10% great matches with everything on point.

Still hoping that the latest batch of Battlefield Of Duty will entice many of the "this game is **** and slow" type players away, leaving a slowly improving core of people who actually want to put time into this.

I've completely dropped Enlisted now, as HLL is a much more enjoyable game imo, and doesn't have the outrageously priced DLC!
