On a gtx 1060 laptop I'm getting like 20fps on any setting not low enough for bullets to look like the original doom sprites.

Although it's kept me up long enough I have to get up for work in 6 hours:mad:

HDR 600 is not bad, i'm on HDR 400, i find that in game HDR mostly looks dull and flat, i think the only in game HDR that ever looked good to me was Sniper Elite 5.

I find that Windows auto HDR looks very much better than any in game HDR i have seen yet outside of Sniper Elite 5, it looks good to my eye, i don't know what to expect but it also looks much better than not having HDR on at all.

If you're looking for a reason to upgrade to Windows 11 that may be it.

As for Helldrivers 2, i don't know if Windows is applying auto HDR to it, its the one game where it doesn't give me a notification about it but it looks great with in game HDR off, bright, punchy with gorgeous colour, it looks like Windows Auto HDR is on, but i don't know.

Funny enough on cdkeys leap year credits I used to buy this game! :cry:

Yeah my experience on W10 and HDR has been poor with only a couple of times the games could enhance it. So used to it being off now, happy to revisit though but yeah W11 looks like it may make that experience pleasant for sure.
 
Several people raving about this game at work but I don't really see why it appears like basically a coop horde mode with a few weapons and armour upgrades? which is something I enjoy but I don't see that getting the level of hype the game seems to be getting.

A lot of live service games these days are designed around micro transactions, so the priority is to design a game that needs progression and that progression sits behind a mind numbing grind or you can fast track it with money.

With that its bean counters who drive the design of the game, so the game is not what the developer wants to play, its not a true child of his mind, but more a vehicle for monetization.

This is a game that the people who made it want to play, its just uncomplicated fun and you never feel like you're missing out on something.

How do you reload a team mate with a heavy weapon?
We've been trying it with the recoiless rifle, me carrying the rifle and my mate carry the ammo backpack. The reload animation seems to stutter and nothing happens.
We tried reversering the roles and the same thing happened to me.

just spam E when near them... my mate loads me up with autocannon ammo he uses railgun and my autocannon backpack and i use autocannon and laser dog...

I think you have to have both the rifle AND the ammo backpack AFAIK? He takes it off your back.

Not about whether I'd enjoy the game or not - just funny how some people are raving about it like it is some revelation when from what I can see there is nothing particular new about what it does - I made a mod for Quake 2 RTX which basically does the same thing albeit less polished.

There is nothing new but what they do is keep it simple and accessible without bogging you down with MTX all over the place.

Also in the current market, it’s relatively affordable compared to what gets shovelled out now.
