How is this game solo? I'm guessing its far superior as a squad.
I changed the keybinds to the cursor keys so I can still tap them in on the move. It adds a great dynamic to the game though, wouldn't want to macro them.

not actually as bad as i'd thought it would be. have had a few whoops moments (by a few, i mean a lot!) where i've wiped some or indeed all the team out with my well placed stratagems. that said i'm only running easy while i get used to the game but imagine at higher difficulty levels my l33t skillz might not be so well received 100% though it needs to be played with friends on randoms who use comms. half the fun is the screams of your vanquished teammates. How is this game solo? Gave this a try last night via Family Share on Steam with a view to possibly purchasing it for co-op play. Seems a fun game, but I ran into a bit of a showstopper (for me).
Whenever you fire a gun the whole screen / camera shakes. I guess it's to simulate recoil. If it's full auto it means the screen is shaking all the time. This seemed to trigger my motion sickness. I know it's not a visual effect unique to Helldivers 2, other games also do it, but for some reason it's giving me problems in this game.
I tried turning the Camera Shake option to Off in the settings. But this doesn't seem to control the gun recoil screen / camera shake.
Anyone know if there's a way to disable this, or if it's baked in and can't be turned off?
Are you dropping in to first person mode while shooting?
I've never experienced that even with gun/camera shake set to full

Default FOV is also quite narrow, if you suffer from motion sickness though I'd say the whole game is a bit of a no no - lots of stuff going on and crazy camera angles, etc. etc.
Well they've put in a FOV slider to help with that, which is good. The devs seem to have made some good efforts to help with motion sickness and other accessibility stuff, including FOV slider, motion blur toggle, camera sensitivity and screen shake. It's just a shame that the screen shake option seems to only disable certain things which cause the screen to shake and not all. Hoping they might patch this.
But you're right, it's a visually chaotic game so might be a no no anyway. But I'm usually fine in shooters where there's lots of anti-motion sickness options.
Anyway was just wondering if I missed something in the settings, but seems probably not.
Ah that might help, thanks. I tend to get on better with burst shooting / precision weapons rather than ‘spray and pray’ anyway. Once you unlock more weapon choices are they always available in your loadout for future missions? There is a range of weaponry so you can probably find something which avoids that problem - though you will have to work up to a certain level and amount of resources to get access to it. One thing I dislike about the game is it forces you to unlock a lot of tat to get to stuff you might want sometimes :s i.e. acquisitions.
