Helldivers 2

@Cern pretty sure there’s a setting in game to reduce camera shake which might help along with the FOV tips. Apologies if already mentioned.

Couple of teams I was on tonight people very obviously using aimbots and macros for stratagems, not that I really care it being PVE.

I've seen on steam deck the only way to use stratagems is basically a insta press.

I'm disappointed the scrambling doesn't just mix up your macros but instead totaly randomised them so you just need to do Urr or rrr instead of having them listed but different to normal

Looks like people are using the Steam Deck track pad remapping for it and also devices like the Elgato Stream Deck can also be used for one click Stratagems. Won't do that myself but it is one element that really kills the game for me if I jump in after a long day at work, etc.

What's everyone thinking of the changes in the balance patch earlier this week? Reddit had an absolute meltdown, people claiming the game is now dead, entirely unplayable etc. Just because the Railgun isn't broken OP anymore. I thought it's pretty hilarious. Especially those that were soloing max difficulty now complaining that they can't do so any more.
So far I think the weapon changes are good, balance is in a better state, but more to be done. Some of the primary weapons still don't seem remotely appealing. The defence missions are way tougher now, which is fine, they were way too easy before. I'm finding the difficulty pretty inconsistent right now though. Fresh bug holes/bot drops are tricky to prevent when you are already surrounded so it's easy to end up in a situation that just escalates out of control, made worse by the game calling in some tough enemies even on lower difficulties at times. Had a tank spawn in on medium difficulty yesterday whilst playing a mission with a low level friend! I didn't think heavies were meant to randomly spawn on anything below challenging.

I never got a chance to play with the rail gun, pre-patch. I'm still too low level.
But I was watching a stratagem tier list video and for most of the support weapons he said. "It's good, but you get better options later."
That better option was the rail gun.

Again, I'm nowhere near end, but it seemed a but unbalanced to me that the best support weapon in the game didnt require a backpack slot for ammo.

Generally I've not found it that much different if you are well prepared, though getting that 1-2 extra harder enemy spawn, which seem to be more bullet sponges now, is making it a bit more of a scramble at times which I think is turning some more casual gamers off compared to before.

Where it has got harder is when you are on the back foot or join in the middle of action and can't easily get the initial stratagems down to stabilise things, which I think goes a bit against the developers ideals of the primary and secondary weapons intentionally being somewhat ineffective so as to make the stratagems your tools for success.

As above didn't get a chance to play with railgun pre-patch as too low level.

My main gripe atm is the classic, why the **** is the default mic option always on not ptt

Some Australian git could not understand the concept of all we could hear was his speakers + him talking to his completely uninterested girlfriend non stop

Friendly fire is such a wonderful blessing...

That's where you're relying on a team mate to lob your respawn beacon off into safe territory while they die for your liberty

So much whining because thier youtube meta build doesn't work anymore.

It seems like if everyone who played l4d2 suddenly complained they couldn't do expert realism after a month with random because there wasn't an op weapon to use instead of teamwork and skill.

All else fails 380mm at your feet and go our like a hero

Anyone else getting massive frame rate drops with new patch? I have gone from 100-120fps, 4k , ultra native down to 60-90 with the last update.

I've not used the railgun enough post patch but I didn't notice a huge difference so far. I've always overpowered the shots anyway and feel the weapon did need tweaked. It was never the best for a situation but it was good at everything, made it to useful. I have noticed some enemies seem to be tougher now but not sure if it's in my head.

Getting a squad on voice and having people more focused on roles has been effective but it's so easy to get swarmed and overwhelmed.

Used it on the first day of the patch it felt useless, then day two of the patch it felt way better think after all the drama on reddit it got silently buffed to a middle ground.

Patch was decent, i didn't want to be railroaded into using the railgun or be rubbish. I enjoy the flamer a lot more on the bugs now, and im happy they think the autocannon is in a good place as that was my go to for bots.

I like how they called adding weather effects to the game a minor patch as well.

I get why things need to change, would be nice they don't forget things off the patch notes like the EAT and RR buffs for deflect damage. That would have saved some people moaning.
