Helldivers 2

Haven't had too much problem with it myself but noticed several of my friends on Steam have downvoted the game complaining of constant disconnects and losing progress. I've generally played the game during the night hours though which maybe helps.

EDIT: What I am getting a lot tonight though is just a sudden black screen for 1-2 seconds and then being back on my ship, no message of any kind as to why.

Oh I had that teleport to ship bug a few days ago, before the latest patch, initially thought the host had disconnected but I was able to go to the hellpod and rejoin. Only happned once though.

I can't rejoin from the hellpod when it happens, it boots me back to my own ship, though sometimes I can still chat with the people I was playing with when it happens.

The mission mechanics aren't really clear at all, the game seems to leave the players to figure out a lot of stuff which is often implemented somewhat obscurely. I benefitted quite a lot from jumping in an early game with someone on voice who knew the game inside out and was talking through a lot of it, though there are still lots of things I'm unclear on.
I played the game for over 40 hours and last night I had a mission I had not done before (Activate Termicide Tower). I was playing on hard and by the time I did kind of work out what to do, I was dead.

I think they've just introduced that mission type as a kind of event. TBH I'm not overly paying attention to stuff like that though so might be wrong.

I agree with this, its not so easy to try and figure out the missions objective when you are getting swamped with mobs

I still come across some that I am not 100% on because someone else has done it or I've not seen it before.

you get little white icons over the ternials etc that are part of the objective but where they are or what needs doing is not clear until your right in front of it

If you've got a team, especially friends, on voice comms it can be kind of fun to figure it all out, but playing with randoms it is a bit of a mess and quite vague - some objectives suggest you've got to specifically align something or whatever where you can just click activate, whereas others appear to simple activations but actually need you to know where/how to align something, etc. etc. overall it isn't too bad when you've been through it with someone who knows the mechanics or have time to figure it out as a team but prohibitive otherwise - maybe something the devs have lost sight of from being so familiar with the game.

Disagree. It's all been quite basic to be honest. Far too many games hand holding. It took me one type of each game to work out what to do. It's not exactly rocket science lol.

Ahh PC Gamers, a wretched group who simultaneously complain about games being too easy and hand holding, then complain if things aren’t spelt out to them in alphabeti-spaghetti.

I played the Termicide Tower mode last night with Ravenger and a mate. We had no idea what we were doing, playing on Hard. After a 17 minutes of failing to protect the first battery silo, we figured it out and still won the mission. The minigames are hardly cryptic.

Yeah, I do normally play with radoms and there is no comms what so ever or sometimes people break up to do something to get it done quicker.

There is a difference between gameplay which takes some reasoning to get your head around and stuff which is just needlessly obscure/poorly implemented and actually quite basic when you understand it.

In contrast I found the Termicide Tower really easy to figure out, though I notice a lot of people having trouble with it, not sure if the same generally but the ones I did had lots of pits filled with liquid around the site which several team mates fell into a few times before deciding to avoid them :s actually quite an easy mission if 1 person activates the 2 other silos while the rest of the team baits one of them (contrary to what the guides say), just a little challenging for the final one.

Managed to do it this ease with a full team this time, much easier than trying to do it solo.

Since the patch i had one crash, it froze for a while before CTD, i thought it was my GPU overclock, but nope, the driver said it was fine, somehow the driver had actually recognised the game was hanging and killed the .exe, there was a message about it in the driver UI.

Since then i haven't had another crash.

My mate got it the other day. Joined my squad, but when ever we joined some randoms. I would get in he wouldn't.
Your mate on a play station?
If the host has cross play off and your mate is on PS he wont be able to join.

Weird how loads are having issues then others like me having next to none, I've had one CTO only, that was the first time playing when the first patch dropped.

It is but true, some people have issues and others don't, its one of those things that almost impossible to diagnose which is probably why its still happening.

A friend decided we should crank it up to difficulty 7 and attempted this new mission type. Kiting for like 20 mins on one objective whilst being chased by scores of specials. It was kinda crazy but somehow we got there.
