Helldivers 2

What CPU do you have? there are reports especially of 13900 and 14900 CPUs, but to a lesser extent some other 13th and 14th gen Intel CPUs, having stability issues with the game if you don't adjust some BIOS settings slightly.

I've not had a single CTD so far since enabling V-Sync at 144Hz (with G-Sync).

Thought you where meant to blow the armour off the legs and hit there rather than the head

The head isn't a weak spot on the Chargers, they've just reduced the health on the head bit, you still need like the recoilless rifle to do damage to it. I've read the thing with the legs is actually a bug they may fix.

EDIT: Apparently it is the whole head segment - I'd been aiming at the exposed jaw bit assuming that was the vulnerable bit but apparently the whole head armour has had its hit-points reduced.

That was the main strat until they made the change this week. Now hitting the head with anti-tank weapons works great. They're not the biggest problem in bug missions any more, instead that seems to be the sheer number of those bloody hunters!

I haven't found the hubters to be much of a problem the stalwart seems to take em out easily enough

I've not found Hunters too much of an issue, Stalkers though are a pain. I generally take up the role of pest control with the Stalwart and let the rest of my team concentrate on heavy weapons to take out the heavy stuff - personally I think using orbitals, etc. for taking out multiple small targets a waste.

I'm not 100% on the armour penetration mechanics but apparently there is some angle aspects to it as well - which seems to be why I was struggling with damage on the Charger's head as where I was thinking I'd have to aim for results in a hit angle which is suboptimal apparently... (not sure if a bug or intended mechanic).

Stalwart + laser rover backpack makes you a crowd control machine on the bug missions.

Stalkers I always seem to end up spraying a few Stalwart shots, diving backwards to doge the first attack then laying on my back desperately unloading a full mag of the breacher automatic shotgun into them before finishing up with that automatic pistol while standing up.

Feels very cinematic and in theme for a starship troopers game

Damnit netflix won't let me screenshot the scene from starship troopers on the phone, just after Rico gets his leg stabbed and he's shotgunning away sat on his ass

Laser Rover very powerful for taking out hordes of smaller stuff - but has the potential to engage additional groups who aren't aggro'd on you making it even harder LOL - also a pain in terms of friendly fire if your positioning isn't good as it'll happily spam the laser all over the place.

Oh god yeah if you get on an elevated position go prone, or it will decide you don't need a head.

People bringing the mortar turrets on bug missions are a bloody hazard too

This game is so frustrating - I'll have an hour where everything works flawlessly, then an hour where there are little bits of the game falling apart everywhere and all kinds of random bugs... as someone with some gameplay programming experience I can't even comprehend how it is possible, even with distributed systems inputting data.

I had a few games this morning for an hour or so without any crashes to desktop after forcing DX11.

I did have a crash when I tried to exit the game to desktop once I had finished playing but I also had this before the recent update.

How many hours you got in the game?

I definitely encounter my fair share of bugs, but zero disconnects or CTDs. Any bugs I do experience are typically not game or mission breaking and are usually resolved button spamming (a dive sorts most movement issues, or picking up items for animation locks) or by a buckshot of diplomacy to the face by a fellow teammate.

I've got just shy of 38 hours in the game.

Just had to shoot a team mate after they dropped in a liquid pool on the Termicide mission and weren't dead but couldn't move/get out.

Yeh, there are weapon choices that make them less of an issue, but then you have to trade off! I've been running with the SG-8S Slugger quite a bit, and you've got to be accurate without the typical shotgun spread. One miss and allowing a hunter to get close and start hitting you in melee, then it can be a pain to actually hit the blighters! Often end up chewing through all my Redeemer pistol ammo when surrounded!
Slugger is nice against the medium sized enemies though, very satisfying. Definitely a game where when partied up you need to have a range of weapons to be optimally set up!

Haven't had too much problem with it myself but noticed several of my friends on Steam have downvoted the game complaining of constant disconnects and losing progress. I've generally played the game during the night hours though which maybe helps.

EDIT: What I am getting a lot tonight though is just a sudden black screen for 1-2 seconds and then being back on my ship, no message of any kind as to why.

I've lost progress a few times due to server sync issues but never had any issues with crashing or fps. Game feels solid and plays solid, just server side is abit meh.

I'm still on a older driver and no issues with CTD, does sound like a driver issue. I'll see what driver im on tonight and report back.

Never had any FPS issues, running an almost constant locked 144FPS with ultra settings 1440p and feels very responsive, I was getting CTDs after updating to latest nVidia drivers if the game is regularly running above ~150 FPS though. I've not had a single CTD since enabling V-Sync.

I get lots of random issues though - just now had a mission where reloading was a bit funky and if I didn't wait 1-2 seconds after the reload was complete before trying to do anything else the reload would have failed when switching back to the weapon.

Have you ever had the issue where reloading a team mate i.e. the autocannon puts your arms in a random locked position?

You then walk around like you have Cerebral Palsy in your arms for the rest of the match?
