Hi guys installed new i7 970 last night reset cmos and loaded optimised defaults with my c300 ssd on sata600 pci controller set to boot first as usual. nothing else changed. when I tried to boot all seemed ok but it just sits at the starting windows screen and goes nowhere. The windows startup recovery option does the same, it takes ages to load and won't go anywhere after that. In fact both options just bluescreen after a while.

Any ideas?

I've a feeling it's more to do with my c300 and the sata600 controller card not playing well with bios or even windows. Might need to change a couple of sata/ahci related settings in bios

maybe connect the SSD to a normal sata 2 port, to get windows installed, at that point it will pick up the pci controller and be able to install the drivers for it.

May be worth trying that.

Ok now got the c300 on mobo sata2 port and no improvement... Gets into windows startup recovery verrrrry slowly then bsods.

Gonna remove the sata600 card altogether now see what happens.

I can't think of anything atm, but then again i have been up all night so my brain is abit fried lol. Im sure someone will come along later and be more helpful, some how or another the problem will get sorted, but will have to wait for others to reply i guess.

Flashed bios to 13j loaded optimized defaults installed the SSD on pci controller and rebooted. The SSD and pci controller are both seen by the bios and windows starts to load but it just still sits there for aaages on "starting windows"....

I guess I could try running the ssd on sata2 again now that bios is updated and CPU should at least work...

Any more ideas?

only thing i can really think of if the sata 2 dos'nt wanna play ball too, is to try a fresh install, maybe it did'nt install correctly or something, in all honesty i can't really think of why its not playing ball with you.
