Help - Just found a chicken!

Man up and eat up. That or give it to your dog/cat/ferret (which aren't vegetarian in the slightest) :D Failing that, maybe ask around as to where it came from? There can't be that many people in your part of the city of Manchester raising chooks :D

Don't leave it out over night or it's likely urban foxes will have it for dinner. Keep it in your shed/kitchen over night and give it some shredded vegetables like lettice, cabbge or seeds and some water. And if you have a old box or draw fill it with shredded paper so it has something to nest in. The box should be cut to about 6-8 inches high. They make fantastic pets and will keep you with a fresh supply of eggs if you take care of it. They'll eat all your kitchen waste to.

Take a look at this site for ideas to house it in if you plan on keeping it.

Shop around for an urban chicken round what can hold upto 4 chickens.

PS I don't think it's an accident it ended finding it's way into the home of a vegetarion lol.

I'm surprised this doesn't happen more often with all the free range chickens available now.

Maybe this is a new marketing ploy by Hugh Fearnley-Whittingstall, have you checked for cameras?

My girls won't eat cabbage, broccoli or celery, but will eat most other greenery. If you plan on keeping her, get some books out the library and see how easy it is. We've had our girls for 2 years now and the eggs are the best ever. If your girl's comb is pale pink and small, she is still young and will probably not lay yet, but it won't be very long. You can keep chickens on hard standing, they just need somewhere to scratch, but she will need to be enclosed.

Let us know how you are getting on.
