Help: Kittens!

The place I got mine from uses (trained) volunteers to go out and do the home checks. They get their money from people making donations (£50 per kitten)

They give you the microchip when you collect the kitten, as well as a voucher for discounted spaying and vaccinations (the vets in Bristol have signed up to do this) the microchip gets popped in when they get "done"

The kittens all live with foster mums until they get rehomed, again they're volunteers and the money they get for the kittens covers food needed/litter etc.

If I had more space I'd be fostering too now :)

(Sorry for taking the thread off topic, just I had such a brilliant experience getting and bringing home my fur babies, and would recommend them to anyone)

Hey guys,

Okay well the mother went out last night just around the garden for a bit of leg stretching I think... I bought some Kitten food.... bloody expensive stuff for how much you get and have given it to her this morning, let see if she eats it up...

The kittens are also being very vocal now too and so I thought that I would capture a video of them being noisy... the mother was looking at me as if to say "I didn't sign up for this!"

(excuse the gayness in my voice)

I also had a talk with the vets to see what they recommended about spaying and jabs and see if they would give us a discount to get them all done... she seemed reluctant, I might give the CPL another call about this then.

anyway I hope you enjoy the vid :)

I'm happy to buy some kitten food and post it to you, either for mum now, or kitties when they get old enough. Seriously I mean it :)

Hey Stelly well done on looking after mum and kittens :-) I did email you last night but sorry it was so late as I had some issues with the 2 kitties I am fostering at the moment.

Great work Stelly, keep it up!

We had our cat put down earlier this year, makes me want another now!

Stelly, there is probably no need to buy expensive "kitten food", especially from the supermarket it may not even be very good quality.

As some have noted, there are no mice running around in the wild with "kitten food" labelled on them.

Have a look at the link I put previously for animonda carny food from Zooplus. This will cost about £1-£1.50 per day for the mum, depending on how much she eats.

if you check with your local rspca and CPL and explain the situation some offer vouchers so you can get the spaying etc done at a reduced rate.
The Cpl i got my first cat from offered vouchers to get spaying done cheap and you did not have to adopt from them, just have a case such as yourself.

I dont know if they all offer this but its worth a try

stelly,

depending on what you end up doing.

we are in the market for a kitten, we live in Bolton so not that far and would be willing to adopt one if you do end up raising them.

you can email me if you are interested.
