Help: Kittens!

stelly,

depending on what you end up doing.

we are in the market for a kitten, we live in Bolton so not that far and would be willing to adopt one if you do end up raising them.

you can email me if you are interested.

Definitely going to raise them mate. There is, by the looks of things, 2 males and 2 females... all look healthy (fingers crossed)

I have nothing witty to add at this moment in time.

 Never thought I would see the day :)

At this rate they'll up for sale in the MM.

I think it should be allowed the shoot laser beams from their eyes :D

Mother looked good today she ate all the kitten food last night and then went out to stretch her legs, she seems to be staying in our garden at the moment...

We saw them feeding last night as well that is how I know that all 4 seem healthy... I cant wait to see them properly as at the moment I'm only seeing bits of them... one had his head under the mothers chin this morning, he looks more grey then black.

I would setup a webcam but cannot afford an IP cam :(

Need more pictures of kittens :(

Its hard because of where she has picked.... its very much surrounded on all sides and part covered on top... I don't want to use the flash and stress her out but will be trying to get some better ones this weekend if there is more light.

Sorry about that :)

It's awesome to see faith in humanity :) Have you perhaps talked to someone regarding anymore animals down the road. If one of my animals went missing for a couple of days, I'd be terrified.

From reading this post you asked what am I going to do with these kittens. looks like you have enough people on here wanting to give them a good home.

Top man for looking after them, you are a good person. :)

She has been sleeping in our garage for about 6 months, believe me I don't think that they are bothered I'm about 98% certain of this. I have thought about reporting them to the RSPCA... see if they can get any court order against them owning animals...

What a great thread! You're only down the road too - and I thought Liverpool was full of ****heads! Thanks for proving me wrong. :)

Chuffed they're getting on so well, damn I love kittens. The mother is so cute!

Hey,

Right, mother is loving the kitten food, I'm mixing it with dry kitten food at the moment but she is eating it like there is no tomorrow, but I understand as she is needing it for the Kittens.

I'm currently looking into how I can stop the kittens from getting lost and also tidying the garage without stressing the mother out too much there isn't much in there which can hurt the kittens but plenty that they can jump around onto which might be more interesting for them.

I'm also going to need a litter tray I'm guessing as well as I don't think that they are not going to poo until I rehome them :) Might wonder off to my local pet store tonight to get sometime sorted.

Kittens will be a week old tomorrow which is weird as it does not feel like its been a week, I'm keeping visitors to a minimum at the moment as I don't want to stress the mother out... only me and the misses can go into the garage.

They were crying again this morning for food but the mother seems to be providing enough and most of the noise is coming from a rather large male cat... his is going to be a massive cat...

I think that a couple of them maybe grey and a couple black :)

AWWW!!

Would love one of these Stally :)

I too am only down the road (sort of) near Wigan! I would love another little fur ball :)

As I have said in the emails Stelly you need to get them into a quite room in the house asap so they can get used to a home environment. Don't worry about keeping mum in the room for a few days/ a week she will be fine as long as there is plenty of water, food and a litter tray.

Just leave mother and kittens alone in the room to adjust and then start going in there and interacting with mum and kittens. Trust me you will be doing the right thing if you want the mother and kittens to be rehomed as if they are used to a home environment it will be easier to rehome then and the adopters won't have to try and get them used to a house.

I have 2 lovely boys with me at the moment and they came from a garden center type place with 15 odd cats so they were left to roam about etc. They have been with another fosterer for 4 months but in an outdoor pen and now that their in my house they are very scared and hide away but they are coming around slowly. I have had other cats who were strays and within around 3 days at most they are quite happy in the house and they also have to be kept indoors while I foster them and they are more than happy.

Is it just a case of picking the kittens up, putting them in something to carry into the house, and then mum following the noise they make and her natural instinct kicking in to come and look after them?

Genuinely interested in how all this works :)

That is one way knip for sure. The other is to get a carrier, which he will need to get the mother and kittens to the vets for spaying etc, and then using food/treats get her to go in the carrier and then just take her into the room and let her out. He can keep the carrier in there with maybe a blanket over it so she has a hidy hole.

If all else fails then he can talk to CPL about getting a humane trap where he puts food in it and it closes when she goes to eat the food then just transfer her to the room and get a big box with a blanket etc for the kittens and put them in the room.
