Help: Kittens!

Stelly wanted me to pass on a message that she's back :D Phew!

Good good...

Probably worth getting used to the mother cat disappearing for longer periods now that the kittens are getting a little older. I suspect that you'll never quite get rid of her though - even after the kittens are grown and gone. As long as you keep feeding her she'll keep coming back, though it might take a long long time before she' s comfortable enough to let you stroke her.

hello!!

yes she is back! I will have to get use her going out and around... it's not bad means that I can have have of a hold of the kittens :)

Hate to say we told you so but... :D :p

Awww! Do you think you could get some better pictures of them now *whispers* esp if there is a gray one? ;)

Sounds like you need an ip cam matey. Just set a couple of foscam ones up at home for our 2, I'm watching them sleep as I type, really good though because they email us on motion detection so we don't have to stay logged in.

Since mum keeps wandering off there's every likelihood she's in season again and could be carrying her next litter. She really does need to be locked in or spayed asap.

This is a good point, though she won't be in heat just yet while she's still nursing.

Still, cats go into heat every 6 weeks or so, so unless you particularly want another batch of kittens you should consider having her spayed fairly soon. She shouldn't go into heat while she's still nursing, but could go into heat as little as 3 days after the kittens are weaned. But you also need to wait until the kittens are weaned before you spay her.

This causes a few problems for you since she is not properly domesticated and won't let you pick her up, let alone cram her in a cat box. If I were you I would consider moving both her and the kittens into the house within the next 2 weeks or so, and keeping her indoors for a spell until the kittens are fully weaned. You can then keep her away from other cats for a while until she trusts you more and you're ready to have her spayed.

It is the main reason that I have locked her in... I think that she must be coming back in heat as I can't see where she is actually getting out I have just closed off the smallest hole ever and hope that she will not be able to get out now... I have got a CPL voucher for her spaying but like you said I need to wait until the cats are fully on solids.

There is a litter box in there that she is using and she has the whole garage to herself if she wants to stay away from the kittens.

I promise to get better pictures tonight, well, try :)

Playing with new kittens is one of the best things a human being can do to relax and have fun. Just try and wipe the smile off your face when playing with a kitten...impossible :D

I know. When we had kittens when I was growing up I was always surprised that they learned to walk as someone was always picking them up and cuddling them.

Hey guys,

Instead of running around like a mad man and worrying when the mother is out I decided to take some piccies....

I'm trying to find how she is getting out as I don't want her getting preggers again... so far I can't find it...
