Help me spec a new 2k gaming machine

You could incorparate one of these custom OCUK water coolers with orange fluid into your build if you are not going the watercooling route.

YOUR BASKET
1 x OcUK Tech Labs Fathom All in One Custom Cooler 240mm £112.97
1 x Hardware Labs Black ICE Radiator SR1 240 £55.98
1 x Mayhems Pastel - Orange Coolant 1L £14.99
Total : £193.54 (includes shipping : £8.00).

Actually, Lee suggested this, these don't seem to be anymore complicated than the other coolers, or am I wrong? Plus could go orange and would look fab, for not much more money.

what case? h100i is a beauty but also consider the h110, 240mm fans on that badboy, plenty of cooling, doesnt have the usb link and software that the h100i has though, or alternatively the NZXT Kraken 60 is a sweet cooler also, i think one of the best rated AIO's up there with the h100i

That Fathom cooler is actually a mini custom loop too, that eisenberg pump is pretty sweet, im fairly sure you can expand that should you want to with another rad and a GPU block etc, i think the pump could handle it.

Just the fans will need to be changed as I specc'ed 120mm not 140mm :( also I don't think that Corsair currently have released there SP140 fans as of yet...

This is my current basket, trying to order for Saturday delivery so need to firm up quickly.

Issues I'm aware of at the moment: -

1) Fans - there are no SP140's like Ethermaster said so should i just go with the FX140's that come with the CPU cooler and forget about these extra 140mm fans?
2) Fans - the AF140 is out of stock - again should i just forget about that fan altogether? The fact i'm running everything at stock other than the CPU and that i game with a headset (so noise doesn't really bother me) so I just get shot of these extra fans? I'm not entirely sure of which ones are to replace stock fans on the case and which are additional case fans.
3) Spray paint out of stock - this relates to the fans again so based on the advice on the above i might drop the spray paint too

Thoughts please?

Id say that basket looks sweet, with regards to fans, not sure what the 120mm fans are for? the Kraken AIO is 140mm fans, and the case has 140mm fans? Would check where you need 120mm fans and then order that lot, set it up and check if your happy with the noise, if not then its only a day or two to live with it while you source more

The 120mm fans were for use with the H100i I believe but I'll see if Ethermaster responds soon as it was his basket entirely other than the switched out cooler as per discussions above.

Unless there is a major sound difference it shouldn't bother me tbh.

I'm a little unsure how that effects all the orange cables in the basket too - without the extra fans i'm sure some of them will come out.

Because that would involve waiting til 17th for those GPU's and the fathom has a 1 week lead time too :(

BUT

Maybe that cooler would look really good in the long run.

This is the amended basket, starting to go over the budget a little now.

The CPU and case alone have gone up £50 and the MSI 780s at £360 are now OOS so can't save the £80 that way to offset the cooler.

Hi OP,

Quick Break down on the fans and the cables,

SP fans are for 'static pressure' which are desgined to move air though a rad (H100i)

AF fans are for 'air flow' which are designed to move air in a greater volume into a blockage free space (case fan replacements).

the numbers after the fans is relating to the size of the fan 120 stands for 120mm 140 stands for 140mm, the cables are there for all 6 fans to reduce the noise setting them down from 12v to 7v.

The H100i is a 240mm rad so you will need 2x 120 fan's for this where as the kraken is a 280mm rad so will require 2x 140mm fans to cool it.

Thanks, very much appreciated, no rush anymore, I have managed to banish the childish devil from my shoulder and will take a bit more time so as not to regret anything a few weeks down the line.

I think that fathom cooler with the orange liquid would look superb.
