I had thought about it myself don't know could work I've plugged SATA drives in whilst pc on but not a m2

Ok latest update i made a boot usb and disconnected the two other drives and put the M.2 drive in and nothing it still wouldnt let me into the Bios.So i switched the pc off and took the M.2 drive out and restarted the pc it let me into the bios so i put the M.2 drive in whilst it the pc was running and there was no sign of it in the bios.Im beginning to think its a problem with either the motherboard or the M.2 Drive so im going to return the drive and get a replacement.

Without being able to test the M2 in another pc that's probably the best option right now
You have made a decent attempt with it
But sometimes there's only so much you can try

Ok latest update the company sent me a replacement M.2 drive and its still the same so im going to contact MSI and see what they suggest otherwise im just going to get a SSD drive instead and forget about M.2 until i get a new Motherboard.
