I spoke to my mum earlier and money is a bit tight, so gonna go with the GT 430 instead

Would this work out ok and he will be using his HD TV as a monitor (i'm guessing it's not the best idea but as i said money is tight atm lol).

Hi there,

the trinity is a very good system and fits your needs exactly. However the GFX card is something I wouldn't skimp on.

The GT 430 is a good card but tied mainly to home theatre PCs, it isn't really the best for gaming.

The 5770 is one of the best lower end GFX cards out their.

What resolution are you planning to game on?

I'd be tempted to put the 5670 in the Trinity. As it's got a 450W value PSU, I'm not sure if it'd cope with a 5770 (does it have the extra power connector?), plus you save £25 and the 5670 should be fine for reasonably low-res gaming. As Nath said, the 430 just won't cut the mustard.

Right ok then, 5670 it is i think, not sure on what resolution he will be playing on, he hasn't had a PC for a few years now, and i've always used 1024x768, but his HDTV is 32" so guessing a higher resolution would be better?

If it's true HD, it's capable of playing up to 1900x1080. You'll be able to use that as a normal screen resolution, but you'll probably have to scale it down for playing recent games.

TBH im not too sure, we bought it a few years ago now, im guessing it's just HD ready but can't be 100%

Ok thanks for that, i don't think it will matter, he's not very technical, he'll just be happy he's got a PC to play on.

This is good option, i think people look beyond the 5670HD. I bought one as a replacement card and i cant believe what it can run for the money.

I have ran BC2 on it, you dont get the best fps in the world but will defaintly average around 35. If your not too concerned about having FPS over 60 then this card is great, Idle power is next to nothing (15w i believe and 75w load) so doesnt require a 6 pin power connector either.

Thats good to know, do you think the pre-built system will run better than the system i spec'd earlier though?
