Help Ryan fight his cancer

I feel your frustration. It's awful not being able to do your normal things, everything is just on hold. Not being able to get on with things is so annoying, especially the day to day stuff.

Stay positive buddy, stay strong and keep pushing on, the medical science we have nowadays is amazing. Try and do any exercise, even just shorts walks, when you can, it'll help hugely. I wish I'd pushed myself a little harder sometimes. Obviously listen to your body though, don't do too much.

Hey everyone,

7 days left on the page. After that I will be sending the money to Ryan.

If you haven't contributed, or you can't, then write him a little note, or spread the word. :)

Just donated. Goodluck Ryan. You're an awesome guy, I've got to know you a bit over the past few weeks as you're helping me with a few things and I really appreciate the support so I want to give you some support back. Hope everything goes well with your treatments mate.

A little update.

Was down in Manchester again on Wednesday and Thursday. Started on the trial drugs and about a dozen other pain relief drugs. Have been told not to expect the trial drugs to start working any time soon so I'm at the mercy of the other drugs keeping my pain under control until they start working, hopefully within a month or two.

We got the results of my CT scan from last week, wasn't pretty. The tumour on my left kidney is 10cm x 9cm and has destroyed my kidney - there's no sign of it. Luckily my right kidney is operating well so isn't impeding kidney functions.

Back down to Manchester weekly for checks (blood tests, ECGs, etc) and more drugs.

Thank you all for your support x

Sorry to hear of your recent news and continuing struggle. I hope you have some positive feedback soon mate.
All the best.

As others have said thanks for the update and wish you all the best.

Hope you get some good news soon!

keep going and lets hope the drugs kick in soon.

More good news. Was taken into my local hospital's A&E over the weekend with a bad fever. Have had loads of tests and been isolated cos I'm pooping water (hope no-one's at their dinner).

It's a seven day stint for antibiotics and to try and shift the infection. Have had 2 blood transfusions and I think they're going to try and drain the fluid from my lungs tomorrow. I've had to stop the trial drugs for now as they could be adding to the toxicity. They did a CT scan and compared that with one done a week and a half ago in Manchester and everything has grown by about 2.5cm. In a week and a bloody half!

Once I get out of here and the infection is under control I'll go back down to Manchester to see what my options are - maybe get back on the trial, maybe have to try some radiotherapy to blast the worst bits (which would preclude any chance of getting back on this trial). Or maybe something else.

Wishing you all the best mate, i assume you already have a palliative care team working with you? If not, it may sound scary but they are there for anyone who has a potentially life threatening condition, to help you, your family and make sure that any wishes are done correctly.

Hi Ryan,

Been stuck in hospital since Tuesday due to bowel infection. I was literally like a heavily pregnant lady. Side effect of the chemo apparently that I am having and they nearly had to operate on me and add a bag. Currently on TPN food and I haven't eaten solids in on a week which is absolute hell especially being stuck in hospital far away from people and not being able to do anything! Can't wait to get out but I just hope this doesn't happen every other week to me like it has done so far. I've missed my chemotherapy session which was meant to be on Tuesday for me.

Stay strong and I hope you get better soon to restart treatment.
