Steps are basically calculations or sets of calculations. Give it a bit of time and it should start going up.
If you got the GUI version of the F@H client [you will see a red...blob...in your sys tray if you do] you can close the window.
If you have the console version and have only just installed it, that window needs to stay open or it will stop F@H. However, once you restart that window wont come up again since it will be running via a service and not in the folder.

By the time I hit reply I'm sure somebody else will have already answered. 
Both serve the same purpose.

Close the window and reboot. When you bring up Windows again, it will be running in the background, assuming you told it yes when it asked if you wanted to install it as a service. Start > Run, type services.msc, press enter, scroll down to a service called FAH@..., click Start.shimy182 said:can i close it now or what? its stuck like this atm

From what i can see we have gained 7 new members since this thread started. Could be more if some people are yet to upload a result.
However, it looks like Russia has also gained about 7 people in the same time period!

We were never going to beat them as such. The aim was to keep in 48th place by stomping Linux before the Russians stomp us. I don't think we will be able to do that, however i expect we will regain 48th place shortly after we loose it.
In the last couple of hours we have broken our record for active users. The most we have ever had was 110, we now have 112. Well done all.

Any idea how many active users team russia have? 112 isnt that many tbh, theres usually about 500 users on the forums at one time but only 1/5 folding
