Help! Think I'm being scammed!

A lot heavier, weighed in at 2.7 kg and, from the photo he's sent, the duct can't weigh more than a couple of hundred grams
Surely the camera would weigh more than the ducting. If that is the case then it proves it wasnt what you originally posted. Get him to send u an email with him saying this was everything that was posted and get him to weigh it? Does the weight get shown on the sticker stuck on the parcel by parcel force?
this. if he doesnt come back with the correct weight.....
Dropped the claim form off at the PO today. There's only 2 staff there and they both remember me packing the parcel there and were happy to sign the claim form to say I posted the camera. Still not heard back from the buyer after telling him to call the police to get a crime number.

Check his purchases history on Ebay, you want to find the one where he bought a load of plastic ducting....or was even trying to sell a load of plastic ducting

Tell him you contacted Paypal, and rather than £250 being added to your account -- someone just deposited a load of duct tape.
Tell him therefore someone at paypal must have nicked his £250, and he needs to resend nother 250 ..

yeah its a common one, and *hopefully* ebay/paypal will not act until an investigation has taken place, however i fear that they will freeze the money.
One thing you can do which i did was look at his feedback... click on the users and contact them, cut and paste a generic msg asking them if they had any trouble with this guy.
i did this and found my scammer had tried it on with every single person, stating 'water damage' and so on...

Odd question, not worth making my own thread, but when the postal address says "The Vale of Glamorgan", can I shorten it to just "Glamorgan"?

I'd use the full, as given, address just to be sure.
I'd deliver it by hand. So far I've had major problems with Royal Mail, ParcelForce and DHL and CityLink don't do personal deliveries anymore
