Hey guys,

Urgent problem, I have a watercooled 290x One of the OCUK techlabs ones and when i turn on my machine the computer is not recognizing it.

The cables are all plugged in but no go....

Anyone have any ideas?

I just have a black screen, the rest of the system works fine and if I plug a hdmi lead into the back of the mobo to a screen it works fine everything looks good the only problem being that my graphics card is not detected in device manager......

Thing is right, I installed windows while I had an old 8800 installed that works fine when I plug that in but not the 290x as its not even detected.

I also have this other problem that the computer boots so fast into windows I cant get into bios :\.

Also bios update how do I do that?

Usually you need to tap the "Del" key on most motherboards to get into the bios. If you have a modern EFI style bios, you would need the latest bios file on a usb drive or something similar.

I have to switch my pc on from cold and hammer the Del key in order to get to the bios in time. :)

Well the integrated GPU is disabled in bios...... i used my 8800gt and that booted up no problem :\.

I did use that card to install windows when i was testing the hardware reason being the gpu was already waterblocked by OCUK so i couldnt run that without a loop.

Maybe a bios update may do something?

I dont know the specifics of your board, but usually BIOS updates have to be put onto a freshly formatted USB drive and inserted pre-boot.

You go into the BIOS and find the flash utility, locate the USB Drive (you might have to enable it in the BIOS) and select the BIOS File.

Sometimes Mobos have a flash utility that is software based and can be completed in Windows, like my ASUS Mobo.
