help with choosing smaller case

apparently the fan can be moved up by 5mm but increases the total height to 170mm
Yes, i know, but concerned about how much tolerance we have.

Reason for this is if the fan touches the case it can cause vibration - but you would have dampening material on the panel so this wouldn't necessarily be an issue.

on paper, pics and general research it should fit - by simple fan raising, fan removal or fan orientation. Or even removing the top of the sinks off the memory.

I'm being extra careful as i'm the one not buying - i'm always careful spending others money.

If you can wait another 16 hours i should catch doyll - i may even do a dedicated post for his attention, if you're happy to wait?

how about low profile memory, is there any as good as I've got now
Yes - and certainly an option if required - although there are other coolers...

But hopeful we can find a resolution that doesn't involve more money.

Will search for doyll later when have more time.

I did a dedicated post in the cooling section - seemed easier.

Didn't link to this thread, as from experience it usually makes things confusing.

You'll hopefully get clarification pretty soon...

1. d15s
2. u14s (like you originally said)

The D15S would be the most equivalent compromise - and should handle 7700k at stock admirably - regardless of it's toaster like qualities.

Your, amazing, temps may be slightly higher but that would be due to case/airflow rather than the coolers ability to keep things chilly. But the temps should, in theory, still be within your preferred tolerance.
