Hi

ive been looking for a new gaming pc last few weeks, it will mainly be used for gaming, skyrim, crysis 2, metro 2033 etc, so need decent graphic capabilities if possible in the price range.

been looking at the titan 8800i photon as always had amd cpu's but after a lot of reading on here and elsewhere intel are way ahead in terms of performance.

unsure whether go with amd or nvidia for graphics.

monitor and keyboard and mouse would be needed also.

dont know if its possible for all under 900, wanted see if you guys could work some magic

Has anyone tried the Benq monitors? we got a batch in of them at work (not one above) but they were horribly and cheaply made, and didnt go to resolutions they stated. overall had a bad experience with them?

anyone else use them and know that there good in general and we may have just picked a bad monitor by them

i dont have one currently using a acer one. but i have heard good reviews for them

Ill spec one up tomorrow for you. i paid just over 1k for my pc recently (no mouse , keyboard or OS like but hey) so i reckon you could easily a top range i5 + £250 gfx card and a £100 mboard as good standings.

are you bothered about a SSD? or would an normal 1tb hard drive do you? im going to get a SSD later on as it only really affects loading times, wont improve gaming perfomance or graphics when you have the right componants behind you. best off speccing out on componants that are going to make a difference to what you want, then get a SDD later on when you have money spare?

just my opinion though

You may want to look at those builds in a bit more detail.

It's mainly boot times yes, but you'll also benefit from faster access to your programs. Gaming benefits from games that stream textures n stuff. Skyrim may be an example of this, but someone else can clarify that.

If you had an SSD you wouldn't go back. Taking advice from someone that doesn't use one is perhaps questionable :)
Saying that though, you could lose the ssd for now and put that saving towards a 7950 instead?
