Help with Garage Conversion TV & Sound

Hi @Gray2233 - yep, hoping the electrician might help me that said, I really want to get the strongest slimmest to the wall as I don’t want it too proud to the wall but don’t know where to start as there seems to be soooooooo many brackets out there!

Most places that sell TV's will have an installation service for £50 or something if it's necessary, which means they should be able to provide an appropriate bracket.

If they **** it up during the process it's on them rather than you.

I have noticed that said companies tend to way overcharge for wall brackets though, you can usually find an appropriate bracket elsewhere (like the rainforest) for substantially less.

They charge a lot for the brackets because they undercharge for installation. It's heavily subsidised out of the profits from the TV & Audio Dept or business as a whole. There's no way that £50-ish per job is enough to cover wages, employee costs, a vehicle, the various insurances, tools, fuel etc.

I'm likely to purchase either of these and get my guy to install - just can't make my mind up

Same price for a ue85bu8000? What would you choose out of the two? Since they are roughly the same - put aside the fact John Lewis will give me a better warranty?

That makes sense, I'm quite happy to support businesses like that where possible so that knowledge makes it much more palatable should I ever be in need of such services.

I'd never want to try and install anything larger than a 65" TV by myself, and certainly not when spending the sort of money some of them cost.

I've told you, the 7000 / 7100 / 7110. They're better for gaming which is what I suspect the TV will be used for mostly. 30mins on a treadmill vs kids gaming for 3+hrs. But you don't seem to be paying attention, and I haven't got the time to keep repeating myself with the same kind of indepth answers.

You've made your mind up it has to be 85" for willy waving rights. And now you appear to just want the biggest number in the TV model name, maybe for the same reason?

If all you wanted was a nodding dog answer then you should have said so right at the beginning of the thread. It would have saved us all a lot of time.

Do what you please. No doubt you'll justify it to yourself that you're right, so why bother listening to the advice of the experienced and (in my case) industry professionals who install and calibrate TVs and projectors?

yeah same thing for the audio. Suggested budget AVR and 5.1 speakers, which'll cost about the same as that Samsung speaker shaped like soundbar.

Better quality, smaller TV over lower quality, bigger TV anyday.

Appreciate the response. I wasn't trying to be awkward. Just wanted a certain simplistic look for the space. I value the input which has genuinely helped me to understand the pros and cons which is why I used this forum in the first instance I am sure I'm not the only one on the planet that has an opinion as to why going bigger is a personal preference and wants to look at things in different ways before installing. I get the quality aspect but balancing out what I'm trying to get from an aesthetics point of view and the fact I'm not a 100% purist in terms of sound and vision. I used to sell home systems for one of the main electronics chains in the mid 90s for 5 years selling Sony TVs, Aiwa, Kenwood, Pioneer, Panasonic, Hitachi, Philips and Sharp, but of course in the mainstream, these were not for the elite but they did give me an idea of the good, bad and ugly at the time. Everything moves so fast.

These are close

£40 bargain. I'd pair them with a warmer amp. Check the left treble isn't pushed in the photo looks bit funny possible crease on right woofer also
