Help with new build

ok, ive put everyhting from my new build together, but when i turn on the IO switch on the psu and press the on button nothing happens, there is nothing indicating it is on

specs

e6300
gigabyte ds3
x1800xt
geil ddr2 2x512 pc5300

i have tried it with one stick of ram but it hasnt helped

any suggestions?

ive tried a different power lead, different socket no help :/

You've connected all the little coloured wires to the motherboard? Power button, Reset Switch, Speaker?

ive done all the power button and lights, not done the speaker or usb yet, is it worth doing if theres no sign of any action?

20(+4) pin ATX cable plugged into the motherboard?
CPU sitting properly in the socket?

yep both the 24 pin and the 4 pin connector are attached and the psu is seated in the correct orientation and clipped down

He has

Put in the speaker so you can see if you get any motherboard beeps.

Also, i think you require a 4pin power plug near the cpu socket (Atleast my P5W does). Is that plugged in? (If you require it that is!)

Yeah you do, mine sits uncomfortably next to my Arctic Freezer 7.

Those are the ones with a white cover right?

The speaker is usually a red and black wire (twisted together) that says 'speaker' on it. Should have 4 pin holes.

yep hte little 4 pin plug near the cpu is plugged in from the psu

Pretty sure the VCC ones are the USB connectors. The speaker must be the L RET and L OUT

nope, i have a load of little black covered things, none say speaker on

also, in the manual it talks about a power led, but i have nothing to plug into that :/

And I have to slide out my motherboard tray if i want to connect it because the big typhoon is huge. :rolleyes:

how would it give messages if the psu didnt even turn on :/
