Help with New Car

because of lack of parking at college there is no room, the turning circle on the meriva is awful so you cant get into the biggest of spaces

A parking space that you cant get a Fiesta into isnt a parking space - so walk/bike/bus/train is your best answer.

Sure, sell the meriva and buy something else to use for other purposes, but it sounds like you're never going to get parked at college, so dont bother trying

Handbrake tbh :p. I had a 306 in college and never had troubles parking it, don't see how turning circles really affect it unless its like 20m. I always reverse park anyway.

So do you actually want a shorter car, or do you just want one that doesn't LOOK quite as long as the Meriva?

It sounds like you just don't like the Meriva. I mean, OK so it has a bad turning circle. So what? I bet it's not as bad as my Picasso (a class leader in naff circlage) but I can manage to fit it into most parking spaces I find.

What car do you WANT us to recommend, so we can recommend it and then put an end to this madness?

:)

This. Gotta feel sorry for the kid, motors is one of the bitchiest most elitist forums I've ever come across tbh :p. Not saying most of it isn't true though.

**** it, leave it, everything i put is being questioned, fair enough it isnt that big, thats not the point i asked for something smaller, maybe it is capable of that mpg i am not getting that... thank you to whoever put FIESTA

The turning circle on a Fiesta is the same as the turning circle on an Aygo and a Picanto, so you're screwed really. You're not going to get anything easier to park than a Fiesta, so please, don't throw your toys everywhere.

You must have at least some idea of what you want - at least one car you've seen that you thought "that would be OK.."

Surely?

if your after something smalled consider a seat ibiza. its smaller then a meriva and standard kit level is generous compared to other cars in its class.

one thing id say is that i also had a Meriva as my first car and although the ibiza has a better image if you regularly carry 4 or more people the meriva is better as it don't feel as cramped as the ibiza does and when you put them next to each other length wise the difference is not that big

edit- if your after better mpg like i was you want to look at diesels or a 1.2 if your not taking it on motorways much

Thank you!
Ok i have thought maybe a golf would have been ok, something along the lines of that

You realise a Golf is a size class above the cars you've been shunning for being too big?

Small city car class is the likes of Fiesta, Corsa, Clio, Polo. Then you get into mid sized hatchback territory with the Focus, Astra, Megane, Golf.

I have said its not all about length, the height of it as well, seen as though i am going ot have trouble with other cars parkign
