Help with new Seagate drive not being seen

Just really Fed-up now!

I sent faulty Barracuda HD to Ocuk on 23.12.2008.
Ocuk sent out replacement via next day DHL on 2.1.2009


its now 5.1.2009 and I have taken the day off work to receive the parcel.

Problem is DHL are not turning up?
I have checked DHL Online tracker and get "Consignee Cannot Be Reached"
they wont respond to customer service!



This is BS!
No Card nothing!
BS I have been in all day. They haven't come round!

I just looked on the internet and have found out this

There is plenty more and if there are known problems with this DHL, which after reading the internet, there obviously is. then i think it is the responsibility of ocuk to stop using them and to DHL.

Rather hard isnt it to backup 500 gig when u just have a 500 gig hdd perhaps?

Then have another for backup or maybe 2x in RAID1 for a bit of redundancy for exactly this situation? having important data on a single drive and no backup is kinda putting all of your eggs in one basket. I do feel sorry for you and hope you get your replacement sorted.

Just had 1 500GB 7200.11 fail on me. Was fine saturday evening and when I went to start the PC the next day nothing, the drive is not being recognised in the bios. There is power to it but it is definatley dead. Have started an RMA from another website but they will just send me another one again!

There is definatley a serious problem with these Hdd's.
