The teacher managed not to cover this in enough detail and I'm stuck on this question:

Given a poisson distribution: X~Po(n)
If P(X=5) = P(X=4)+P(X=3), find the value of n.

Any help?

Substituting for the form of the Poisson distribution, you can reduce the question to a polynomial, which should give you one positive answer along with a negative one and three zeros (if I'm doing this correctly)
