HELP !!!!!!!!!

Not so deadbeat, I just don't think you get that kind of longestivity on a console.

PC games have lasted me years, there are lots of MMORPG's around which are time consuming.

well. looks like I ll be getting a wii then :P

Seeing as the majority of people who posted in this thread told you to not get a Wii i find this a rather strange conclusion to come to using this thread as guidance.

Hey ho! Your decision at the end of the day and there are some great titles for kids on the Wii so hope it works out for you.

I guess there is really no helping the obesity epidemic.

I'd rather use my body and feel like part of the game, then sit on my ass with a controller vibrating in my hand wiggling some sticks about.

Lol, I run over 20 miles a week and spend a good deal of time at the gym, as well as eating well. Yet I too would much rather sit and chill out with a controller. For the majority of games, a controller can't be bettered with today's tech.

True dat, I've been playing the Civ games for years - haven't had a rig capable of Civ 4 yet, but that's only weeks away. GalCiv 2 did me for a good year or so, I oculdn't count how many times I've played through Silver, and the skirmishes in the original Black & White were worth the value of the game alone - which is a Good Thing, because the campaign progression was needlessly fiddly.

I was big into TFC, played it for years and got to the top level. I also played SWG (when it was good!) and other MMORPG's which just sapped my time. A console just doesn't offer than that of integration due to lack of dedicated servers (PSN has this however, but just not the titles to take advantage).

The consoles really need a 'WoW' or Eve, or something along them lines. I don't think this is possible on the xbox however, without the introduction of dedicated servers into live. With a decent MMORPG you also have to pay for a sub, which would make for interesting pricing arrangements by MS.

To Turniphead / Sharpz, yes the PS3 is more reliable than the 360, however, the Wii is more reliable than both the 360 and PS3 put together. Media centre the xbox can do pretty much exactly the same. The only advantages the PS3 has over the xbox is the fact that it's super quiet and blueray. The rest are negliable / moot points.

But lets not turn this into a whole fanboy debate... Please.

Having access to all three consoles (I don't own them, but hey) I'd have to say I've used Wii the most. I've not played anything great on the 360, I didn't like the games that are rated great and the best ones I mostly played on PC anyway as they weren't exclusives.

I haven't spent much time on the PS3 either, apart from on Guitar Hero/Rock Band. Although they're (atleast GH, unsure about RB) available multi-platform.

On the Wii I've played quite a few more games that are actually great fun, must say this is probably aided by the fact that I was a young teenager when the N64 came out and became a fan of the games then, such as Zelda & Mario. That said, I've really enjoyed Zelda: Twilight Princess, which I rate very highly, I found it almost as fun as playing OoT back in the day. Super Mario Galaxy is also great, same thing as above in relation to Super Mario 64. Mario Kart Wii is a great multi-player game, much like the Mario Kart on N64. Metroid is an extremely good single-player experience, couldn't put that game down :)

And I'm about to purchase Okami, that also looks good. ~

Super Paper Mario is also another awesome Wii game! Highly recommended, the Wii gets slated loads of here but I personally think it has a fair amount of great games. I would actually recommend one.

Nice input there, thanks

People are quick the dismiss the Wii because of the shovelware thats become overloaded on the platform, but their are some very good games if you look around.

People who say the Wii is an awful console just have not looked hard enough.
