Here we go again!! Another knife attack.

You just don't get it.

The police will hold some one on the easiest of things. So it is off the streets.
Then later they bring in the rest of the charges.

Your argument make sense though, as anti-terrorism powers give them the most powers - You can hold people for 14 days without charging them for suspected terror offences.

Anyone else you have to give 24 hours and then have to charge them or apply for more time, up to 96 hours.

They've now arrested a suspect:

Seems rather odd... I mean compared to say gang violence, or perhaps some jihadi or mentally ill person going on a rampage. This is someone stabbing a bouncer because they can't get into a private party... not a nightclub but a house that has been rented out for a private event - so presumably they were either random passers by (in which case why are they *that* bothered about getting denied entry to a party they were previously unaware of) or they perhaps knew someone else who was invited/knew of the event (in which case, pretty silly to kick off and stab someone as highly likely they'd get caught).

will be interesting to see who this person is.

Most likely just your bog-standard group of violent black youths.

Shouldn't it be the default to detain anyone under the mental health act who commits a crime with religious motivations.

Yea, id say being devoutly religious pretty much means youre mentally ill, awful lot of muslims carrying out atrocities around the globe.... I guess they must all have "mental health issues"

A few weeks ago I was out with a group of friends at a private event at the end of which we headed off to a few bars and clubs. Around 1pm we headed to a club in Shoreditch, I know not which one, but we got rushed in passed the queue. As we headed in my wife tripped and broke her foot at which point a group of black girls were incredibly gracious with her, their colour not relevant here but bare with me. My group was mixed, black, asian, Far Eastern and white (English, Irish) men and women, though not unsures. We were not stand out as white boys in a black club. About 30 mins in I realised I needed to take my wife back to the hotel as she was suffering.

As I awaited my taxi we had some laughs with 2 black girls on reception (one being truly stunning in many ways) at which point a young black lad came in, listened for 30 seconds and under his breath was heard to say "white privilege hankers". His girlfriend was embarrassed and to their credit the 2 girls told him to leave. Angry youths are everywhere sadly but there is no question the black community has the problem as 95% of those getting stabbed are black.

I have just watched hoop dreams, 2 mins ago it finished and sadly not much seems to have changed.

Careful now, the terminally offended will be along shortly to point out your racisms.
Broken families, breeding broken families breeding more broken families.

Most of society not really caring anymore because they have lost all sympathy, but a few vociferous and permanently angry who seek to beat those who look a bit pale into accepting it is all their fault and they should repent for the acts of their fathers and NEVER forget no matter what they do, it''s still ALL their fault.

Ever was it thus. The simple never have answers, just simplification of a big problem and a position doest not rest with the bad people, but the people who made them bad. My view is it is a problem from all to be fixed, but starting with them and us or 'yes but' on any discussion is pointless.

MOST coloured people, most religious people, most people not like most of us are actually like us. Divisions are created by people who want division, sadly our media is a big part of that and it's ability to influence is exponential these days.

I don't have the answers, but I sense the realties.

London and Britain have utterly failed that poor Romanian and his family. I feel deeply sad when people come here to better their lives, go to work and die because we’ve all allowed our country to spiral into such a state of criminality.

Ive seen it all from working in London and it’s largely because pc nonsense has prevented the police from doing their jobs. If half these gangs were stopped and searched these knives would be found and confiscated, but they can’t anymore.

I’ve seen kids riding around in groups on 2k road bikes far too big them that are so obviously stolen but they just flout all the laws because theres no deterrent, that’s even if they get caught.

We’re all to blame for this as far as I’m concerned for allowing these left wing morons to dictate the dialogue. They should be social outcasts, not policy writers.

Well yes. That was the point. These people will continue to murder each other and we can't say anything because it's "racist".

Very well said. Giving the bleeding hearts a voice and then listening to it was a huge mistake.

The time will come as the tide will turn, and it won't be pretty

Ummm.

We've had a right wing government for 9 years and had a right-wing conservative mayor for of London from 2008 to 2016...
Which sort of evidences his point. They have not acted, no matter which party, because they fear the vocals of the righteous media/social commentators and the fact they might be out of a job if they rock the boat too much. The irony is most live in a safe bubble of a good lifestyle, which makes it even more sad being as they are using people very unlike them as vehicles for their debate.

This goes much further than the government in power. It’s deeply embedded in the thinking of civil servants.

I think Housey above makes the point rather well.
