Heroes of the Storm

Had my first couple of games last night. Won 1 lost 2. Won the mines one, lost on the spider gem and dragon rounds.

Played with friends, 2 people who have played quite a lot, lvls 32 & 34 and two n00bs like myself. Ended up being a baptism of fire being in a group of 5 so coming up against organised teams with high level players.

played as Valla in the first 2 and then the tree like healer (don't know name) in the final one.

Enjoyed Valla in my first game once I'd worked out how her abilities work etc. Second game I just kept getting jumped and was unable to get away, got absolutely destroyed by Kerrigan a good few times.

In the final game I felt the cool down on the single heal ability was quite long and I didn't feel like I was providing much benefit to the team. It's probably more me not having played before and not fully getting the dynamics and play style yet.

I'm not a big fan of Malfurion which is the healer. Valla is a solid choice though and easy enough to play.

Thats the problem with 5 man teams if a couple are new, you're up against generally well organised teams.

Google Heroes of the Storm builds and also hotslogs will tell you what talents most people run for each hero etc...
 
I levelled Malfurion to 5 for the gold and didn't have a single game where I felt like I was being a good healer or actually useful to the team.
Really dont rate him as a healer.

Much prefer LiLi and Brightwing.

Cool, will do some reading and hopefully jump on again tonight for another bash after the gym.

Agreed, his heal is over time more than instant which is a pain.

I love LiLi when in lazy mode.

I prefer hero league as your more likely to get a balanced team though not guaranteed, its nice when people pre-pick so you get some idea of whats needed to fill in the gaps.
 
My win rate has plummeted since i have started playing Sylvanas.

When I used to play as Muradin I was winning about 60%+ i'd guess. There just isn't enough people playing tanks or healers.
 
I have her to level 9 and my thoughts on her.

She is extremely squishy, any sort of stun, 1v1 and you're dead. Your positioning has to be good due to not having a massive firing range or as you guessed it, you're dead. Her mobility isn't as great as people think either due to the time it takes to travel.

That said stick her in a lane and she will mop up, great at laning with someone as you can basically keep the turrets from firing, then push the keep and do the same. Late on in the game she can wipe out minions pretty much instantly which means your lane keeps pushing.

She can do damage, being able to rapid fire 5 times while also using your right click does take a good dose of health out of someone.

Personally i think she is great to play and will master skin her when she gets to 10 probably tomorrow.

Would i recommend dropping 15k gold on her now? Not really as money could be spent on a few other heroes.

Shes not weak nor op, pretty much well balanced. Oh and her second ult needs work, its so bad it may as well be removed.
 
One thing i will say is the level 16 talent cold embrace is phenomenal. Makes enemies take 25% more damage. Which spreads to all of them if in the area. Means team fights can be very easily swayed.
 
I played about 8-10 games last night, some quick match some hero league and i think Sylvanas was in every game. I'm not sure if its just the fact she is new and people are not good with her yet but i think she was on all but one losing side.

In hero league (only lvl 36 so not rank 1) when she is picked nova comes out as a counter almost every time, Valla I have found is another very good counter to her and can tear her a new one ;)
 
I grabbed Sylvanas and so far, as a lane clearer, she throws out a humongous amount of damage. The stun on her basic makes it a little OP but I'm not complaining. If your left alone you can take down minions and defenses with total ease and at insane speed.

The main problem as many have mentioned is just how squishy she is and tbh that's quite a fair trade off considering.
