Heroes of the Storm

Hero league seems to have gotten worse since release. When I'm last pick, everyone else will choose their favourite heroes and then whine in chat that I need to play support. Why does nobody else think to choose the key roles? So many first pick Novas and Gazlowes. To top it off they play terrible.

I'm having the same problem, i'm stuck in mid to late 20's.

I find you get a couple good games and pick up some mmr then you loose a couple through pure idiocy, a silly pick or a afk.

I need to team up with some of you guys :D

Like the bastion announcer says in Dota2 when it's a 5 carry team. "Nobody likes to play support, yet everybody likes to win" ;)

Part of the issue is the forced pick order for teams. Even if 1st-3rd pickers want to play support there's too many valuable heroes that need to be picked first.

Yeah would be nice if you could swap heroes after they are picked.

Just had a horrific game!

As first pick i picked Valla to which "i was going to be Valla you $&%*ing noob" was said by the guy who was picking last, the fist sign it was going to be a bad game. It all went downhill from there, we had 2 tanks and no healer picked and the abuse from 3 of the players went on the whole game. It did end up a close game in the end as we wiped them oas they pushed, I think its the first game i just wanted over no matter win or loose.

Thats why its important in the pick phase to type and talk to your team.

And also not only be a 1 trick pony.

Learn all classes and master a hero of each class. Thay was you can always be useful.

I do personally try to speak during the picks. I let people know that I'll fill in the gap the team needs and if I feel X or Y hero is a bad idea on Z map (Abathur on mines for example) then I'll politely let them know. I find most often I get ignored or people get aggressive.

Way too many people go into hero league wanting to play a certain hero. It just doesn't work like that. You can and will have to make a sacrifice either because your team doesn't need four assassins or because the hero was already chosen. These people should go play in quick match and not ruin it for others. I don't want to have to waste 15 mins of my time playing a lost cause because I don't want to be labeled as a leaver.

Also, terrible shotcallers. These people need to DIAF. Don't ping the boss 10 times at level 6 and complain when nobody comes to help. Don't ping the enemy bruiser camp when they are all pushing our fort and could easily trap us.

just recently picked up on this game and im liking it so far.

am i right thinking that there isnt a mmr-like system in this like LoL or is the mm just random?? keep thinking i keep getting some "special" people on my team :/

It uses an mmr system but it needs a lot of work at the moment. You will inevitably pick up the odd player which makes you wonder how they managed to turn their computer on, let alone play a game.

I used to really enjoy this, but recently I've realised how crap it is compared to other MOBAs. I really really enjoy the short games you have, but when every champion is identical, ranged 'carries' have crap range and abilities, and how your team is only as strong as its weakest member are really offputting. In other MOBAs you can get that sweet solo laner on your team who dominates, or the guys that understand what objectives are etc and literally nobody in this game seems to do any damage. Valla feels like she does SOME but considering our team was like level 20 to their 12, the damage felt pants. I think the lack of gold and items is to blame for that, the game is not snowbally at all which for some might be a good thing but it really does come down to how good your teammates are. That's something I dislike about MOBAs in general but it's doubly true in this.

Game does feel really smooth though, with nice characters and graphics, but oh well.

Hah yeah, he just kinda stood out. The rest of your master heroes are all viable options but Stitches is just horrible at the moment.
