Heroic passengers stop somalian's deportation!!!

It's the poor 16yo victim I feel sorry for, someone who had to endure another 5 years worried that he might end up released in the UK like two others who attacked her (and the fourth who died fighting for ISIS in Syria 2013) -

A lot of the time I just feel hopeless, it’s never going to end, I’m never going to get away from it,’ she says. ‘They need to deport him. How have they allowed this to happen? It’s an absolute farce. I thought there was meant to be victim’s rights. Where are my rights here?’

The amount of defence and legal aid given to this offender is preposterous as I imagine their original victim got probably close to nothing in terms of legal aid, compensation or therapy since.
When the Victim receives less support than the perpetrator, this is where criminals ability to win begins.

Forgot to ask - Did anything happen with the passengers on the plane? Were any prosecuted for obstructing? Have any given interviews since to apologise to the original victim and confirm they were clueless and have made a situation 10X worse than it needed to be?

I thought I remembered this case... there's been an update, the rapist is finally gone and it only cost us £1million to get rid of him 5 years later. Surely you don't need to be a perpetually angry, spitting in your cornflakes every morning, Daily Fail reader to appreciate that something's rather wrong and we need a better system for removing people from this country who shouldn't be here (especially people who are also violent criminals/rapists).

This doesn't seem effective; 24 tribunals, a 14 week stay in a luxury hotel when he arrives back in Somalia at our expense (???) and therapy sessions... aw, you poor little rapist, lets help you resettle into Somalia in comfort. Like WTf? How is he even our responsibility at that point, inform the Somali government and kick the guy out, they can fund their own rapist resettlement program if they have concerns about their own criminals returning.

The system is fundamentally crippled by the extent of how costly and time-consuming all of the spurious appeals are, this is why deportation numbers are so low (though improving somewhat). Only the worst types of 'story reported in a tabloid so didn't happen' folk are head in the sand about this, everyone else knows that we need a functioning judiciary and timely removals process regardless of their views on refugee/economic migrant numbers. This shouldn't be a partisan issue at all.

The story is just a clown show from start to finish. https://www.mirror.co.uk/news/uk-news/gang-rapist-deported-five-years-31475646

In April 2015, former Home Secretary Theresa May stripped him of his refugee status and ordered a deportation order which marked the start of a long legal battle. The string of hearings went as high as the Court of Appeal and six successive Home Secretaries have attempted to remove him from the UK.

Deported 8 years after the initial order.

BBC Africa Editor Mary Harper warned that being back in Somalia could subject Ahmed to abuse from the terror group Al Shabaab because it would want to "punish" him for raping a 16-year-old girl in London. She claimed he could be harassed by Somali security forces and wrongly labelled a British spy. She said he would also likely struggle to find a job in Mogadishu.

However one of the judges said, the MailOnline reported: "It was concerning to hear that she [Ms Harper] had not read thoroughly key material concerning the appellant's case. The failure to do so and the failure to make reference to previous contrary findings by the tribunal when providing her opinion about risk caused us to have concerns about the objectivity of her evidence on this issue."

Extremely odd for this BBC editor to bat for this guy (for £2500+ from the sounds of it) and get testimony slapped down for, among other things, the appeal being based on a fake video purporting him to be in danger from Al Shabaab. Besides, terror groups are not really known for their moral virtue and keen policing of rapists...
There's some strange psychology going on with this woman.

I am pleased to see Admiral Collingwood is still alive. He must be 270 years old or so now. Impressed his nursing home has wifi too.

I find it really confusing, it's like a rapist or murderer arguing they can't go to jail because if they are incarcerated their life will be in danger.
and this persons safety is more important than that of the victims or potential victims...

can we not kill them because it's more humane than locking them up in isolation for their safety for the rest of their lives?

DISGUSTING anyone arguing for rapists and murderers should be deported with them as they are found guilty.

"I can not defend this person as I am of the opinion he is guilty" some people don't deserve the right to legal representatio

Shame for the victim..
Yea, the pendulum will start to swing the other way eventually, and just as hard

Would have been far less hassle to arrange an "accident" for him. Sorry Somalia, he fell out of a window.

Its crazy how this guy gets such a defence, yet people are being hounded (largely by the same mob) because they touched someone's knee 30 years ago.

'Likes' have been engineered by psychologists to deliver a dopamine hit like taking cocaine. They're addictive and social media is full of addicts.
Someone on SC was so butthurt that people were laugh "liking" his posts that he complained to the mods and the like button was removed - That's the opposite effect from positive likes

Probably similar to how YouTube removed the thumbs down. People responding to a ‘serious’ post with a laugh react is effectively a ‘dislike’.

It was me, I took a little break from the forums as was quite busy and one of the mod's reached out and asked me to post in SC as I post things in there they simply can't.

I said I'll find some time to post but first, you've gotta take away Gordy R's beloved laugh reacts. They said "say no more" and lo it was done and dowie returned. :)
