So the problem is your old TV then? (or the fact that this particular graphics card doesn't work with it) so how is buying a motherboard going to help?
i dont know it was just suggested buy a friend of mine that a new motherboard would help i cant see how though, interestingly all the cards i tried with nvidia card maybe a Ati card mite work.
I think with a new motherboard you'll just encounter the same problem as the problem is between the graphics card and TV, giving an AMD graphics card a try would probably be your best bet if you don't fancy buying a new TV.
Belive it or not I needed to use a different cable to hdmi input on the tv and bingo it works, the screen goes black for a minute until the pc boots into windows 8.1 then the hdmi comes on.
Good to hear, it did sound like a signalling issue but as you had tested with VGA and the other card and monitor all worked I didn't think that it would be the cable.
