High-jacked stream account

I've had my account hijacked twice before, no idea how. Got them back both times though by emailing pictures of my serial keys from my games, so you could be ok. And because of this happening to me twice, I've made sure I'm extra careful about what goes on my PC now in a super paranoid way, as well has having a super extremely long password. Seems to have worked so far.

The likelihood of it coming from a keylogger etc is extremely low compared to the chance you got phished.

in either case a long pw will not help at all, that only helps against brute force attempts and people reading over your shoulder.

i got a temp acc with no games on hacked yesterday with that mw2 mp crack. Had a feeling it was fishy, and installed avg straight after

Haven't ever been sent a dodgy looking link over steam by a random message but that's got to be a pretty big lapse considering it says at the top of the message window never to give out your details etc

Still I shall keep ever vigilant as wouldn't want anything like this to occur!

That's why I also said I am more careful about what goes on and what I do on my PC.

blah blah, we have all done it, installed hacks then got cause and VAC banned causing all our games to be unplayable online, then change our details and say "I got hacked, and im banned from everything" it wasnt my fault someone else did it..

Except that wouldn;t work due to the details being changed after the hacking....

*makes note that james is a hacker and not to add on steam...

Actually no, I haven't done it. So it's just you who's done it. Plus innocent or not, saying to Valve you've been VAC banned by someone hijacking you account will not get you unbanned either, for the very reason of people like you

I feel sorry for innocent people though.

A few times now I've been invited to a group chat by a player called Admin. His avatar is the Steam icon and I assume he was going to try and talk me into something. I declined it straight away.

It wasn't this, it was another link. I don't normally fall for this kind of stuff but have been in contact with allot of the MW2 community lately and guess i just trusted the link (and the sender). Whats strange is that i tried the link again and then recieved a phishing warning (which didn't come up the first time). The URL ended in .tk.

it takes so long for the bowser/av to get reports and confirmation its a phishing site.

Sorry to hear this man. It will take between 3 days and forever for them to get back to you. Ive been unable to log in for 5 days now, still no reply for support. For a company who nearly all of everyone's games are linked to they have beyond shocking customer support.

Dont give up on checking though. im still checking once an hour lol. I mean, there's no other use for my pc while i dont have my games other than trying to get on my games lol.
