I've had no luck at all with any of the 38's
I have the deluxe version of the board you have and it's a pretty decent clocker with a lot of features. What's holding you back currently is your RAM because you're running it at 1:1 with your FSB so currently it's overclocked by 40MHz. If you drop the RAM divider to 333, this will make the RAM run at 200MHz against the 240 MHz FSB and this should let you push the CPU more. Also make sure you drop the HTT multiplier to 3 after the FSB goes over 250.Modjo said:I've got a Zalmann CNPS 8000 CPU cooler (recently bought for £25) and my RAM is V-Data DDR400 3200 (2x1gb). My mobo is new (heard good reviews on its clockability) but in the o/c process the v was the last thing i upped. It can be upped but only to 1.4 max. Have tried lowering the multiplyer to 8x and 9x and upping the bus without upping the v but then I got scared as it wouldn't post.

Also whats the two bars u have at the top and right??
They look like Linux, but it looks like windows ?!?!
Cheers

reminds me of the cooling tower my friend and i devised from b&q scrap bin. managed to hold ambient water temps at a 48hr nonstop lan xD

or a skin for XP, not seen vista yet, kinda waiting a year before i make the jump....

EDIT: I Do have my mem running in 1:1 though, which is nice
paradigm said:Not tried lowering the HT multiplier lower than that yet, and not tried the RAM at a lower divider.
Tbh, this board has never been great at clocking (AN8-SLi).
Modjo said:Thanks for that (Also seen the +3800 thread that you mentioned) but have a few more relevent questions 'coz I'm still a newbie to all this. (Started 2 months ago!). How would I drop the RAM divider? In BIoS I have a RAM Memclock Value setting which only gives me 8 settings.. 100, 133, 166, 183, 200, 216, 233 and 250. Are these the same as the divider that you state? Also my HTT multiplyer goes up in MHz. 200, 400, 600, 800 and 1GHz. Is the 600MHz the x3 option? (200MHz stock x3 for a wild guess).
And finally I have a slightly poo PSU. A £30 Mercury (so called) 500W (yeah right!) PSU. Could this also be holding me back? Cheers
EDIT!....
HAve done what you advised (I think) and have managed to squeeze a bit more out.

I thought all A64's allowed you to choose lower fsb multipliers than stock?
paradigm said:No, what I mean is, say for instance I set 315x6.0 in the BIOS for the CPU, I can set that no problem, reboot and go into bios where it will report CPU speed as 1890MHz, no problem.
Continue to boot into windows, and low and behold it craps out. I find this odd as the CPU is well below stock speed, anyway, assuming it was the FSB, I set 275x8 = 2200MHz. I know my CPU can do that speed with ease, and I know my mobo can be stable at that FSB.
Bios reports 2200MHz in uGuru, get into windows (Vista Ultimate x32), and CPUz reports that my CPU is at 275x10! It doesn't matter what I set the multi to in the bios, windows always reports 10!
