You haven't misunderstood, rubberduck's previous posts on the matter have all been very defensive of Duckenfield. Not that I believe for one moment that he deserves any public funds, rubberduck's point regarding SYP is valid. Those that assigned him to the match are just as much to blame as he is - I suspect none of those people are still around though. I do wonder whether those that were so offended by the prospect of the victims families suing SYP have the same feelings over Duckenfield et al continuing to spend public money on their defence?
Anyway, a word of warning to everybody. With ongoing court cases please be careful not to say anything prejudicial about the cases.
