The *competitor* have OEM Hitachi 1TB drives on the shelf today so I guess OcUK should have 'em soon - hopefully they'll be cheaper here as these were priced up at £249.99....

OcUK can do better than that right? ;)

thats looking promising fro a sub 200 quid mark :)

Hope so because that would be just the right price in my view

No way are these going to be sub £200 on release. They'll linger around £250 until the competition heats up.

I work without vat added as theyll be bought for business purposes, nice 5 disk raid array :)

They have been given a very short exclusive on the product. I would advise waiting as we will be able to destroy their price by a looooooooong way and it is only around a week to two weeks maximum.

The Hitachi 750GB drive will also be available next week. :)

Figured that might be the case, the psb are usually overpriced :)

I was planning to get a 500GB drive to replace my 250GB Samsung but that price for the 750GB Hitachi is so tempting!

Anandtech has tested the 1TB drive in a RAID0 configuration:

http://www.anandtech.com/storage/showdoc.aspx?i=2969

The benchmarks results int erms of av read speed are not different to my Hitachi 320 GB in RAID 0 config. In terms of speed it doesnt offer much improvement. But it is a TB harddrive and thats where it wins.

not keen on these. especially when i just bought 2 500GB Seagate drives for £120

750GB drives are still too expensive for what they are so i'm hoping 1TB drives from seagate will knock down 500gig drives even lower.

lol, my apologies II should have read the thread instead of jumping the gun. Still needs updating on the website. . . :)
